Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 17,472 units between Aug. 24 to Aug. 30 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 14,495 units the week prior.
Until Dawn ranked as the No. 6 software for the week selling 17,472 units at launch.
Sony this week said it will release Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4 Mar. 18, 2016.
The title will be sold in a Special Edition SKU which includes the game, Steelbook Case, Art Book, Sticker Sheet, and Naughty Dog Points to unlock in-game content at $79.99.
The Libertalia’s Collector’s Edition will include all content from the Special Edition SKU plus a 12-inch Nathan Drake statue, three Multiplayer Outfits, two Weapon Skins, Henry Avery Sigil Ball Cap, and Madagascar Sidekick Outfits at $119.99.
Finally, the Digital Deluxe Edition SKU will include the digital game, Uncharted 4 Triple Pack with access to single-player story DLC and two multiplayer packs, and instant unlock of two multiplayer items at $79.99.
Sony this week previewed System Software Update v3.00 for the Playstation 4.
System Software Update v3.00 will include an online storage increase from 1GB to 10GB for Playstation Plus members, YouTube Live functionality to livestream PS4 gameplay to YouTube, new Events hub to keep track of activities for related games, Favorite Groups to access groups of frequent friends, Communities to create communities based on shared interests, the function to share video clips to Twitter, Stickers to send images to friends, an updated Now Playing / What’s New screen, and a Request to Watch option to start a live broadcast or Share Play invitation.
NIS America Inc. this week released the Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance demo for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.

Resident Evil Origins will include Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil HD remaster SKUs at $39.99.
Resident Evil Zero, to be sold early 2016, was released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube in 2002. It includes S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and convict Billy Coen and introduced a partner zapping system to switch between both characters.

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Deux Ex: Mankind Divided to Feb 23, 2016.
Deux Ex: Mankind Divided is a first-person shooter RPG title that follows the events of the Aug incident in which millions of mechanically augmented citizens were killed. The title takes place in 2029 when mechanically augmented citizens are outcasts in world of crime and terrorism.

Nintendo this week said it will release a bundle that includes the new Nintendo 3DS XL and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Oct. 23.
