EA Inc. this week previewed the Supremacy Mode for Star Wars Battlefront for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, and the PC.
Supremacy Mode is a multiplayer mode in which users must gain control of five control points. Each team controls two points and must battle for the remaining three with vehicles and ground troops.
The final game will include single-player and local split-screen multiplayer options.
The preview build included a two-player local split-screen co-op mode to battle against six enemy waves on Tatooine.
Users could choose their loadout from pistols to rifles and sub-items like a scope and jet pack.
Controls were solid with accurate pitch and aim controls at default.
Stormtrooper waves held impressive AI as they entered, weaved, and hid through the mountainous terrain. Eventually batch of AT-AT Walkers appeared to increase wave difficulty.
The graphics engine was strong at 30 frames-per-second. Character models and terrain were well-defined, structured and lifelike.
Star Wars Battlefront will be released Nov. 17.
