Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 14,482 units between June 29 to July 5 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 14,482 units the week prior.

Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition ranked as the No. 9 best-selling software for the week.

Sony this week said it will release the Playstation 4 500GB Destiny: The Taken King Limited Edition Bundle to U.S. retail Sept. 15.

The bundle will include the custom Destiny PS4 500GB SKU, Destiny: The Taken King physical copy, and upgrade to the Digital Collector’s Edition.

Sony this week released new titles for the Playstation Now streaming service in July.

New titles include Infamous Festival of Blood, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Resistance 3, Sound Shapes, Wheel of Fortune, and Super Mega Baseball.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the ‘Shadows of Evil’ Zombies Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The trailer previews the co-op survival component which features Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Neal McDonough, and Ron Perlman.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III, to be sold Nov. 6, takes place in the future in which a new breed of Black Ops soldiers and the lines between humanity and technology are blurred.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment this week said it will release Gauntlet: Slayer Edition to the Playstation 4 this Aug.

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition will include local and online four-player co-op action in built and randomly-generated levels.

The final game will include a revamped loadout mechanic and enhanced graphics.

Sony this week said Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited for the Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling digital download title in the Playstation Network division in June.

For the month, The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited ranked as the No. 1 best-selling PS4 download software.

The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited includes all major updates released to the PC and does not require a monthly subscription to play online. Online play will still require a Playstation Plus or Xbox Live membership.

CBS Corp. this week launched Showtime to the Playstation Vue cloud-based TV service for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.

The service allow users to receive Showtime content without a premium television subscription.

It is sold at $10.99 per month.

Sony this week said CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the Playstation 4 ranked in the top three best-selling digital download in the Playstation Network division in June.

In June, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ranked as the No. 3 best-selling PS4 digital download software.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 4 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 14,808 units between June 29 and July 5 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

It sold 23,954 units the week prior.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night ranked as the No. 4 best-selling software for the week.

Lucid Games this week released Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved to the PS Vita.

The title includes 100+ single-player levels in addition to two-player co-op and competitive multiplayer mode for up to eight players.

The final game includes 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 235 units between June 29 and July 5 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 243 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

Microsoft this week said it will sell the Xbox One 500GB Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle Aug. 25.

The bundle will include the Xbox One 500GB SKU, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition download code, and new Wireless Controller at $349.99.

Microsoft this week Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One will not include a local split-screen multiplayer component.

All multiplayer, from co-op to competitive modes, will require an online connection and Xbox Live membership.

Halo 5: Guardians, to be sold Oct. 27, is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.

Microsoft this week began holding the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

Through July 13, customers can download more than 70 game titles via Xbox Live at up to 50 percent off.

Xbox Live Gold members will receive an additional 10 percent off sale items.

Microsoft this week previewed new vehicles to be included in Forza Motorsport 6 for the Xbox One.

New vehicles include the 2014 Volvo #13 Volvo Polestar Racing S60 STCC, 1999 BMW #15 BMW Motorsport V12 LMR, 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello, 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400, and the 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.

Microsoft this week released the new Xbox One Wireless Controller to U.S. retail.

The updated controller includes a new built-in 3.5mm stereo headset jack.

In addition, the controller can be updated wirelessly without a USB cable connection.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 12,781 units between June 29 and July 5 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 13,166 units the week prior.

Splatoon ranked as the No. 3 software for the week selling 34,467 units for the week.

Splatoon for the Wii U ranked as the top-selling software at the Nintendo eShop post Splatfest event.

This week, Splatoon ranked as the No. 1 best-selling download software across all platforms at the Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo this week released Mario Tennis to the Wii U Virtual Console.

The title, released to the Nintendo 64 in 2000, is developed by Camelot and features Waluigi, Princess Daisy and Birdo.

It sells at $9.99.

Disney Interactive Studios this week said it will release the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack Aug. 30.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack includes the Disney Infinity 3.0 Game, Disney Infinity 3.0 Base, Star Wars Twlight of the Republic Play Set, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoko Tana figures, and new Toy Box 3.0 at $64.99.

Additional Play Sets include Rise Against the Empire and a new Play Set Based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 32,355 units between June 29 and July 5 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 24,064 units the week prior.

Fire Emblem Fates ranked as the No. 1 software for the week. It has sold 315,571 units to date.

Capcom Co. this month detailed new July DLC Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS.

The July Free DLC Pack includes 14 new quests, five new weapons, three complete armor sets, one Palico weapon, one Palico armor set, one Bonus Palico, three Guild Card backgrounds, and seven Guild Card titles.
