Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 13,850 units between June 15 to June 21 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 10,822 units the week prior.
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition ranked as the No. title for the week selling 35,872 units at launch.
Sony this week said it will release a new Playstation 4 SKU in Japan in June.
The PS4 CUH-1200 series in Jet Black / Glacier White will feature 10 percent less weight and eight percent less power consumption than the current model.
It will be sold in Japan at the end of June, followed by release in North America, Europe and Asia.
Sony this week said it will release the Playstation 4 1TB Ultimate Player Edition to Europe and PAL territories July 15.
The hardware will include a 1TB hard drive.
A release date for the U.S. has not been announced.
Sony Corp. this week released the PS4 Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition Bundle to U.S. retail.
The bundle includes a limited edition Steel Grey PS4 with custom Batman: Arkham Knight faceplate, custom Steel Grey PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller, and a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight at $449.99.
In addition, the Batman: Arkham Knight PS4 Bundle with Dualshock 4 and a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight sells at $399.99.
Sony this week said the Playstation Network division will be down for maintenance June 29, 2015.
The maintenance period is expected to take place from 9:30PM PST to 11:00PM PST.
PSN users will be able to play games online and access most apps. Account Management, Playstation Vue, and Playstation Store purchase functionality will be unavailable during maintenance.
NIS America Inc. this week said it will release Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance for the Playstation 4 Oct. 6.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will feature a brand new cast of characters in which users lead Killia and his army of rebels against the overlord Dark Void.
The final game will include turn-based strategy and trademark franchise gameplay.
Sony this week released DriveClub PS Plus Edition for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.
The PS Plus Edition includes 13 tracks in one location (India), 15 vehicles, and access to all game modes, including online multiplayer matches and challenges.
Users who download the PS Plus Edition can upgrade to the full version.
Square Enix Holdings Co. this week released Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward to the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and the PC.
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is an expansion to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. It includes an increased level cap to 60, new classes Dark Knight, Astrologian, and Machinist.
The final game includes new race called The Au Ra, a new City-State – Ishgard, new Primals Bismarck and Ravana, and Flying Mounts.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said digital content for Destiny: The Taken King Collector’s Edition.
Collector’s Edition Digital content, which includes three Exotic Guardian Class items with XP bonuses, three class-specific emotes, and three armor shaders to customize each Guardian class, will be sold at $20 in an upgrade bundle available at launch.

Microsoft Corp. this week said it will sell a new Xbox One 1TB Forza Motorsport 6 Bundle Sept. 15.
The Xbox One 1TB Forza Motorsport 6 Limited Edition Bundle will include a limited edition racing-inspired console and custom engine sounds, and Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Motorsport 6 Ten Year Anniversary Car Pack Digital Download at $399.99.
Microsoft Corp. this week released the Teaser Trailer for Gears of War Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One.
The trailer features cinematic action from the remastered title.
Gears of War Ultimate Edition will include Gears of War and Gears of War 2 with updated 60 frames-per-second graphics and high-definition functionality.
Capcom Co. this week released Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition.
The Special Edition includes the original 2008 release and three new playable characters – Vergil, Trish and Lady.
The Legendary Dark Knight Mode adds more enemy spawns with increased vitality and strength.
Finally, the title features 1080p resolution graphics at 60 frames-per-second, tempo and balance improvements, new costumes and skins.
Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked first in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 14,616 units between June 15 and June 21 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.
It sold 16,413 units the week prior.
Splatoon ranked as the No. 3 software for the week selling 43,653 units.
Nintendo this week said Splatoon for the Wii U has sold one million units at global retail.
Splatoon is a multiplayer competitive action game in which users take a squad of squids to spray ink to cover territory.
Nintendo this week said amiibo figures have sold 10.5 million units in global territories since launch in Nov. 2014.
amiibo is a new line of NFC-enabled toy figures that can transfer the character and respective data to the Wii U GamePad.
Nintendo this week said it will release Uncle Sam Mario to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Uncle Sam Mario is dressed in the American flag outfit from NES Open Tournament Golf and will be available to download 4th of July weekend.

Earthbound Beginnings for the Wii U Virtual Console ranked as the top-selling Nintendo eShop title due to strong demand.
This week, Earthbound Beginnings ranked as the No. 1 digital download software title across all platforms at the Nintendo eShop.
Earthbound Beginnings is a re-release of Mother, a turn-based RPG released to the NES in Japan in 1989.
Nintendo previously released Earthbound to the SNES in 1995.
