Nintendo Co. this week previewed Super Mario Maker to the Wii U at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Users can favorite each level with a star or leave a comment about the level for others to view.
In addition, users can pause any level and edit it on the fly to add or erase elements and drop back into gameplay.
Graphics were solid with bright and beautiful sprit-based classic characters that shine bright alongside current polygonal builds.
Super Mario Maker, to be sold Sept. 11, allows users to create custom Mario levels, including classic 8-bit Super Mario Bros. levels and New Super Mario Bros. U levels.
In the preview build, users could utilize the Wii U GamePad and stylus to select classic Mario items like blocks, coins, Koopas, Goombas, and pipes and place them in a set level length.
Additional options include stationary placement of Koopas on specific blocks and the option to place enemies to respawn out of pipes.
At any point in Edit Mode, users can play test the customized level or switch back to edit. In addition, users can switch between classic Super Mario Bros. NES graphics or new Super Mario Bros. U graphics with no load times.
