EA Inc. this week previewed Need for Speed to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One and the PC at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The preview build level included a local multiplayer challenge to weave through a night-based city course in the fastest time.

The title subsequently offered a free play mode to score points with high-risk drive maneuvers like cop collisions.

Need for SpeedThe build included five vehicles, including the 1973 Nissan GT-R Skyline and Subaru BRZ. Each vehicle could be customized from vehicle paint to tire air pressure prior the rase.

The 1973 Skyline held decent control and weaved in each steer adjustment from left to right. Mechanics leaned towards drift-based steers to slide at each turn.

The graphics engine was solid at 30 frames-per-second. Vehicles and tracks held near-photorealistic presentation in the gritty virtual city.

Developed by Ghost Games, Need for Speed is a reboot that will include customization, car culture, and an open world.

A preview trailer features classic car vs. cops races in brand new in-game graphics.

The final game is researched in collaboration with Speedhunters.

It will be sold Nov. 3.
