Nintendo Co. this week released new fighters and content in a major software update to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
New fighters include Ryu from Street Fighter, Roy from Fire Emblem and Lucas from Mother 3. Each character sells at $3.99 per platform or $4.99 for both platforms.
In addition, eight new Mii fighter costumes from franchises including Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Mega Man Battle Network and Splatoon are available at $1.15 each.
The Dreamland stage from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 is available at $1.99 per platform or $2.99 for both.
A Miiverse stage with Miiverse posts that appear in the background is now available at no cost.
Tourney Mode will launch as a free update to both SKUs in Aug. and YouTube replays functionality to post videos online will be available to the Wii U SKU in the future.
New Super Smash Bros. amiibo figures will arrive in Sept., including R.O.B., Duck Hunt, Mr. Game and Watch and Falco.
Super Smash Bros. includes brand new features including Smash Tour: World Smash, a board game mode; Special Smash Mode to fight with special parameters; Coin Battles to compete to collect coins; Stamina Matches to fight until hit points reach zero; Classic Mode to allow one or two players to fight through a series of battles; All-Star Mode to fight opponents in chronological, and Event Mode for one or two players to take on set character and theme-based battles.
The 8-player Smash Mode allows eight players to fight simultaneously in local multiplayer in larger stages.
