Capcom Co. this week said it will release Resident Evil Zero to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC in early 2016.

Resident Evil Zero director Koji Oda and additional staff are returning to develop the new remastered version.

Resident Evil ZeroResident Evil Zero was released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube in 2002. It includes S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and convict Billy Coen and introduced a partner zapping system to switch between both characters.

Capcom in 2015 released the Resident Evil HD Remaster.

It has sold more than 1 million units to date.

The Resident Evil franchise has sold 61 million units worldwide to date.
