Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 19,782 units between Apr. 27 and May 3 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 20,112 units the week prior.

Dying Light ranked as the No. 14 best-selling software for the week selling 6,277 units.

EA Inc. this week said Star Wars Battlefront will include 12 Multiplayer Maps.

Map locations include Endor, Hoth, and support modes like Walker Assault and Close Quarters Combat.

Developed by DICE, Star Wars Battlefront will include solo, local and online co-op, and competitive multiplayer battles for up to 40 players.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Behind-the-Scenes Trailer for the House of Wolves DLC.

The trailer previews the second expansion pack.

House of Wolves, to be sold May 19, will include a new Awoken storyline, exclusive Raid, three new Crucible maps, new Fallen Strike, and hundreds of new weapons, armor, and gear.

Sony this week said the Playstation Now streaming service will launch subscription service plans to the Playstation 3 May 12.

Subscriptions will be available in two plans – $19.99 per month or three months at $44.99.

In addition, the company will offer a seven-day trial to allow users to preview the service.

Playstation Now is a cloud-based streaming gaming service that will allow users to access a back catalog of Playstation 3 titles on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita, and the Playstation TV.

Sony said week released new titles for the Playstation Now streaming service in May.

New titles include Fat Princess, F1 2014, Sanctum 2, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce, Farming Simulator.

Sony this month said it will sell The Last of Us: Left Behind stand alone download SKU for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 at the Playstation Store May 12.

The full digital single-player game with Full Factions Multiplayer and Treacherous Territories Map Pack will be sold at $39.99 for PS4 and $29.99 for PS3.

The Last of Us: Left Behind is a prequel to The Last of Us previously sold as DLC.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 341 units between Apr. 27 to May 3 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 201 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

CD Projekt RED this week released the Monsters Trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, and the PC.

The trailer includes brutal combat from the final game.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.

The title is said to include signature combo-based gameplay from the franchise and feature a brand new set of levels, objectives, new fine-tuned controls, and high score tricks.

Bethesda this week released Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

The stand-alone prequel includes B.J. Blazkowicz in a two-part mission in Bavaria. In Wolfenstein: The Old Blood – Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, Blazkowicz breaks into Castle Wolfenstein to steal the coordinates to General Deathshead’s compound. In Wolfenstein: The Old Blood – The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, Blazkowicz is led to the city of Wulfburg to confront an archaeologist that threatens to unleash dark and ancient power.

Microsoft this month released new titles for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 through the Games with Gold program for Xbox Live Gold members.

CastleStorm Definitive Edition for Xbox One is available to download between May 1 and May 31.

Mafia II for Xbox 360 will be available between May 1 and May 15.

Finally, F1 2013 for the Xbox 360 will be available between May 1 to May 31.

Warner Bros. Interactive Inc. this week released the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition.

The Game of the Year Edition includes Story Packs, Character Skins, Runes, Missions, Challenge Mode and Photo Mode at $49.99.

Microsoft this week released the Alpinestars Car Pack DLC to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One to the Xbox Live division.

The Forza Horizon 2 Alpinestars Car Pack DLC offers vehicles including the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, 1953 Chevrolet Corvette, 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2015 Audi TTS Coupe, and 1970 AMC Rebel.

It sells at $5.00.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked first in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 22,898 units between Apr. 27 and May 3 to rank at No. 1 in overall sales.

It sold 7,210 units the week prior.

Dragon Quest X: Legend of the Ancient Dragon Online ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 98,923 units at launch.

Xenoblade Chronicles X ranked at No. 3 selling 85,586 units to rank at No. 3 in the same period.

Nintendo this week recorded a profit in the fourth quarter due to strong Nintendo 3DS handheld titles and amiibo figure sales.

For the fiscal year ending Mar. 31, the company held revenue of $350 million and an operating profit of $250 million.

The company cited strong sales of Nintendo 3DS software including Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire and Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo 3DS handhelds sold 8.73 million units, a decline from 12.24 million the year prior. 3DS hardware has sold 52 million units to date.

The Wii U sold 3.38 million units, an increase from 2.72 million units the year prior. Wii U sales total at 9.54 million units.

Nintendo and Universal Parks and Resorts this week said it will partner to theme park attraction based on Nintendo IP.

The partnership will include major attractions at Universal theme parks and feature Nintendo characters and games.

U.S. retail this week began pre-order sales for Disney Interactive Studios’ Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack includes the Disney Infinity 3.0 Game, Disney Infinity 3.0 Base, Star Wars Twlight of the Republic Play Set, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoko Tana figures, and new Toy Box 3.0 at $64.99.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 19,310 units between Apr. 26 and May 3 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 21,658 units the week prior.

Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros. Edition ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software selling 179,926 units at launch.

Atlus Inc. this week released Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS to U.S. retail.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is an enhanced version of the 2011 Nintendo DS title.

Capcom Co. this month released the May DLC Pack to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS.

The March DLC Pack 14 new quests, five new weapons, three complete armor sets, new items sold by the Wycoon and more.

It is available to download at no cost.
