Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 20,112 units between Apr. 20 and Apr. 26 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 15,419 units the week prior.
The PS3 sold 4,248 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.
The PS4 ranked three titles in the top 10 including Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II which ranked as the No. 4 software for the week selling 22,609 units at launch.
Sony this week said it sold 2.4 million Playstation 4 units in the fourth quarter.
Between Jan. and Mar., the PS4 sold 2.4 million units and the Playstation 3 sold 400,000 units.
For the fiscal year, the PS4 sold 14.8 million units while the PS3 sold 3.1 million units.
The PS4 has sold through than 22.3 million units in global territories.
The Games and Network Services division, which includes the Playstation business, held an operating profit of $401 million in Q4 compared to a $156 million loss the year prior.
Konami Corp. this week said it has cancelled development of Silent Hills.
Silent Hills was in development at Kojima Productions in a partnership between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The final game was to feature actor Norman Reedus.
The company added it will be continue to develop future Silent Hill titles.
Konami will end distribution of the free download title P.T. for the PS4 from the Playstation Network division Apr. 29.
Idea Factory International Inc. this week released Omega Quintet for the Playstation 4.
Omega Quintet is a RPG idol simulation title in which control an idol group to perform and build up music attacks to battle evil.
Sony this week released the Adventure Time Level Kit DLC for LittleBigPlanet 3 for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network.
The Adventure Time Level Kit DLC includes 16 materials, four objects, 25 decorations, 81 stickers, two music tracks, one interactive music track, Land of Ooo Level Background and Bonus Fionna Costume at $4.99.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment this week said it will release the Season Pass and Premium Edition for Batman: Arkham Knight.
The Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass will include post-launch content for six months including new story missions, additional villains, Batmobile skins, challenge maps, alternate character skins and new race tracks at $39.99.
The Premium Edition SKU includes the standard game and Season Pass at $99.99.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 6 software for the week selling 12,667 units.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 201 units between Apr. 20 to Apr. 26 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 170 units the week prior.
The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.
Microsoft this week released State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition for the Xbox One to U.S. retail.
State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition includes the base game and enhanced DLCs Breakdown and Lifeline with new Danforth location and military unit perspective.
The final game includes 1080p high definition resolution graphics, lighting changes, and increased draw distance.
The Day One Edition adds a special supply drop with the SKS Firearm, Prepper SUV, and the Folding Axe Melee Weapon.
Warner Bros. Interactive Inc. this week said it will release the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition.
The Game of the Year Edition will include Story Packs, Character Skins, Runes, Missions, Challenge Mode and Photo Mode at $49.99.
Deep Silver this week said it will release Dead Island 2 in 2016.
The title was scheduled to be sold in spring 2015.
The developer said it is focusing on development and decided to delay the title.
Dead Island 3 will include new next-generation co-op zombie action.
Deep Silver this week said it will release Mighty No. 9 Sept. 15.
Mighty No. 9 is a 2D side-scrolling action title developed by Comcept and Intl Creates and produced by Keiji Inafune.
The title includes 12 stages, Single-Player Challenge Mode, Boss Rush Mode, 2-Player Online Race Battle, 2-Player Online Co-op Challenge Mode, and standard and 8-bit music options.
Microsoft this week released the Animated Poster Trailer for Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.
The trailer features an animated version of the final cover art for the title.
Halo 5: Guardians, to be sold Oct. 27, is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.
Square Enix Holdings Co. this month released the Gameplay Trailer for Just Cause 3.
The trailer features in-game action with protagonist Rico Rodriguez including wingsuits, grappling hooks, and gatling guns.
Developed by Avalanche Studios, Just Cause 3 is an open-world action sequel to include new subterranean caverns and signature items like the grappling hook and parachute.

Nintendo this week released amiibo tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits for Wii U to the Nintendo eShop.
In the title, users can tap any amiibo to the Wii U GamePad and unlock a three minute scene from a classic NES or Super NES game.
