Konami Corp. this week said it has cancelled development of Silent Hills.

Silent Hills was in development at Kojima Productions in a partnership between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The final game was to feature actor Norman Reedus.

The company added it will be continue to develop future Silent Hill titles.

Konami will end distribution of the free download title P.T. for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 from the Playstation Network division Apr. 29.

Silent HillsP.T., which stands for Playable Teaser, is a stand-alone download title that subsequently revealed itself to be Silent Hills, the next installment in the Silent Hill franchise.

In the download, users enter a normal hallway that loops and descends into a demonic spiral, including a ghost can possess or kill the player.

The puzzle-like game required users to zoom in and view objects in the hallway and loop through to solve the next puzzle.
