Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 15,419 units between Apr. 13 and Apr. 19 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 17,885 units the week prior.

The PS3 sold 4,175 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Dying Light ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 25,530 units at launch.

Sony this week released the System Software Update v2.51 for the Playstation 4.

System Software Update v2.51 is said to improve system software stability and operation quality during use of some applications.

Bethesda Softworks this week released the Online Beta program for The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited to the Playstation 4.

The closed public beta is between Apr. 23 and Apr. 27 by invitation only.

The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited, to be sold June 9, will include all major updates released to the PC and will not require a monthly subscription to play online. Online play will still require a Playstation Plus membership.

Evolution Studios this week released the Update 1.14 for DriveClub for the Playstation 4.

Update 1.14 includes a new Startline Tour with 11 events and 45 objectives, Multiplayer Replays and the Ferrari LaFerrari.

The PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 15,059 units between Apr. 13 to Apr. 19 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 18,028 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 4 software for the week selling 12,175 units.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 170 units between Apr. 13 to Apr. 19 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 238 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

Microsoft this week previewed the May System Update for the Xbox One.

The May Update will include Game DVR, user profile updates and real name sharing for the Xbox App on Windows 10.

GameStop Corp. this week released the Spartan Locke Ad for Microsoft Corp.’s Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.

The trailer previews Spartan Locke abilities while in pursuit of Master Chief.

Halo 5: Guardians, to be sold Oct. 27, is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.

Capcom Co. this week said Resident Evil HD Remaster has sold 1 million units worldwide.

The digital release includes the 2002 Resident Evil remake previously released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube, with updated textures and 1080p high-definition graphics on next-generation consoles.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 6,324 units between Apr. 13 and Apr. 19 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 6,654 units the week prior.

Mario Party 10 ranked as the No. 7 best-selling software for the week selling 5,991 units for the week.

Nintendo Co. this week said it will sell the Wii U Special Edition Splatoon Deluxe Set at Best Buy Co. Inc. stores May 29.

The bundle will include the Wii U Deluxe console, Splatoon download code, and Nintendo Land pre-installed at $299.99.

Nintendo this month said sales for the Wii U hardware have increased compared to the year prior.

The company said Wii U sales have increased more than 20 percent compared to sales in the first three months of 2014.

Nintendo this week released Mario Kart DS to the Wii U Virtual Console division of the Nintendo eShop.

Mario Kart DS includes five single-player modes and more than 30 courses.

The title was released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 21,824 units between Apr. 13 and Apr. 19 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 26,841 units the week prior.

Style Savvy 3 ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software selling 55,179 units for the week.

Nintendo this month said sales for the Nintendo 3DS handheld increased in 2015 compared to the year prior.

The company said Nintendo 3DS sales increased nearly 80 percent over sales in the first three months of 2014.
