Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 34,574 units between Mar. 30 and Apr. 5 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 31,229 units the week prior.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software for the week selling 56,932 units at launch.

In the third quarter, Nintendo held an operating income of $270 million on revenue of $2.3 billion.

The Nintendo 3DS sold 4.99 million units in the third quarter, down from 7.76 million units the year prior.

The handheld has shipped 50 million units to date in global territories.
