Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 45,446 units between Mar. 23 and Mar. 29 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 46,395 units the week prior.

The PS3 sold 6,652 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Bloodborne ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 152,567 units at launch.

Sony this week said it will release a bundle that includes a limited edition Playstation 4 and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s Batman: Arkham Knight.

The bundle, to be sold June 23, will include a limited edition Steel Grey PS4 with custom Batman: Arkham Knight faceplate, custom Steel Grey PS4 Dualshock 4 Controller, and a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight at $449.99.

In addition, it will sell the Batman: Arkham Knight PS4 Bundle with PS4, Dualshock 4 and a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight at $399.99.

Sony this week said Spotify is now available for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 in the Playstation Music division.

Spotify includes 30 million songs and 1.5 playlists. PS4 owners can utilize Spotify to soundtrack game sessions.

In addition, PS4 and PS3 users can utilize Spotify Connect app for Android and iOS to control the service from their smart device.

Spotify Premium service is available at $9.99 per month.

Sony this week released new titles to Playstation Plus members for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita in the month of Apr.

New titles include Tower of Guns (PS4, PS3), Never Alone (PS4), Dishonored (PS3), Aaru’s Awakening (PS4, PS3), Killzone Mercenary (PS Vita), and MonsterBag (PS Vita).

Sony this week released Toukiden: Kiwami for the Playstation 4 and the PS Vita.

Toukiden: Kiwami is a third-person monster hunter title that will include the Toukiden: Age of Demons story and a brand new story of the same size that follows the original.

The final game includes new weapons, new Mitama, new Slayers, new moves, four-player co-op functionality, and a save data transfer option from Toukiden: Age of Demons.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 27,032 units between Mar. 23 and Mar. 29 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software for the week selling 139,298.


Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 250 units between Mar. 23 and Mar. 29 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 344 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

Microsoft this week said Halo 5: Guardians will be released Oct. 27 to U.S. retail.

Halo 5: Guardians is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.

It is said to be larger than Halo 4, run at a 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity, and feature dedicated servers.

The trailer previews an encounter between Spartan Locke and the Master Chief.

Microsoft this week released the Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines DLC to Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One.

The DLC includes an all-new story, new area, and new traversal mechanic.

It sells at $9.99.

Microsoft this week previewed the Apr. System Update for the Xbox One.

The Apr. Update will include Voice Messages, Dedicated servers for party chat, and What’s On to highlight popular content.

Capcom Co. this week released the Title Update for Resident Evil Revelations 2 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC to U.S. retail.

The Title Update includes Online Raid Mode functionality and increased difficulty in Code Red Raid Mode stages.

In Resident Evil Revelations 2, veteran Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, the daughter of Barry Burton from Resident Evil, are abducted in an abandoned detention facility and face new Afflicted enemies.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released the Operations Trailer for Rainbow Six Siege.

The trailer features Operations gameplay to attack, defend, breach, and engage in close-quarters combat.

The first-person shooter title, to be sold in 2015, will include tactical environmental destruction, hostage situations, breach and stronghold tactics.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 6,698 units between Mar. 23 and Mar. 28 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 7,595 units the week prior.

Mario Party 10 ranked as the No. 16 best-selling software for the week selling 17,433 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said it will release Splatoon for Wii U May 29.

Splatoon is a multiplayer competitive action game in which users take a squad of squids to spray ink to cover territory.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Nintendo this week said it will release Yoshi’s Woolly World for the Wii U this fall.

The side-scrolling action title will feature a yarn-based world and incorporate two-player cooperative functionality.

In addition, new Yarn Yoshi amiibo constructed from yarn will be sold this fall. The amiibo will add another Yoshi to the game to assist the player.

Nintendo this week released Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS titles to the Virtual Console division of the Wii U.

Titles available include Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64 and Yoshi’s Island for the Nintendo DS.

Nintendo DS titles will offer TV and GamePad functionality for dual-screen layouts. Nintendo 64 titles with rumble pack functionality will include force feedback through the GamePad.

Upcoming Virtual Console titles include WarioWare: Touched! for Nintendo DS Apr. 9 and Donkey Kong 64 Apr. 16.

Nintendo this week said amiibo NFC figure Wave 4 products will be sold in May 29 at U.S. retail.

Wave 4 characters include Charizard, Pac-Man, Wario, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Robin, Lucina, and Ness.

The hardware sold 28,704 units the week prior.

Theatrhythm Dragon Quest ranked as the No. 4 best-selling software for the week selling 76,858 units at launch.

Nintendo this week said it will add a new 200cc class to Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U Apr. 23.

The new high-speed class will work on all tracks.

The class will be added as a free downloadable update, in conjunction with DLC Pack 2 which includes three new characters, four new vehicles, and eight new tracks.

Nintendo this week said it will release Mario Maker for the Wii U in Sept.

The title allows users to create custom Mario levels, including classic 8-bit Super Mario Bros. levels and New Super Mario Bros. U levels.

Nintendo this week said it will release Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer to the Nintendo 3DS.

In the title, users must design houses for animals with furniture and décor.

The title will be compatible with new amiibo cards and the NFC reader/writer accessory for the Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL.

With cards, users can scan and design a room for a specific character or scan additional cards to invite characters to visit.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer will be sold this fall.
