Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 46,139 units between Feb. 23 to Mar. 1 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 24,737 units the week prior.
The PS3 sold 8,926 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.
The Dragon Quest Heroes PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software for the week selling 269,303 units at launch. The PS3 SKU ranked at No. 1 selling 325,446 units in the same period.
Sony this week said the Playstation 4 has sold through than 20.2 million units in global territories.
The company said the figure represents the number of hardware units sold through to consumers as of Mar. 1, 2015.
Sony this week released new tiles to Playstation Plus members for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita in the month of Mar.
New titles include Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee (PS4), Valiant Hearts: The Great War (PS4), Papo & Yo (PS3), Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (PS3), OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood (PS4, PS Vita) and CounterSpy (PS4, PS3, PS Vita).
Sony this week said it will release the Project Morpheus Virtual Reality System for the Playstation 4 in the first half of 2016.
The hardware will include a 5.7-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution OLED display, 120 frames-per-second output, tracking via the Playstation camera, and a single-band and quick release button.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma EXTEND, to be sold July 28, is a 2D fighting title that will include a new Guard Crush system, Stylish Mode, new stages, new characters, and additional scenarios.
Finally, the title will include Remix Heart, a comedic story mode.
Capcom Co. this week released Episode 2 of Resident Evil Revelations 2 to U.S. retail.
In Episode 2: Contemplation, Claire and Moira find other Terra Save members only to find out they are infected. Meanwhile, Barry must rely on Natalia to track down Moira.
Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 24,457 units between Feb. 23 and Mar. 1 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 35,934 units the week prior.

The Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle sells at 39,980 yen ($333 US). Customers who purchased the bundle prior to Mar. 1 received a 5,000 yen discount.

Microsoft this week released the Rockstar Energy Car Pack DLC to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One to the Xbox Live division.
The Forza Horizon 2 Rockstar Energy Car Pack DLC offers five vehicles, including the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GRC, 2015 Subaru WRX STI, 1996 BMW 850CSi, 2015 Jaguar XFR-S, and the 1970 Volkswagen #1107 Desert Dingo Racing Stock Bug

Harmonix Music Systems Inc. this week said it will release Rock Band 4 in 2015.
The title will support all previously DLC.
In addition, new peripherals will be developed by Mad Catz to be sold concurrently with the title.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask ranked as the No. 2 software for the week, selling 39,751 units for the week. It has sold 341,997 units to date.
