Sony Corp. this week said it will release the Project Morpheus Virtual Reality System for the Playstation 4 in the first half of 2016.

Project MorpheusThe hardware will include a 5.7-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution OLED display, 120 frames-per-second output, tracking via the Playstation camera, and a single-band and quick release button.

The PS4 has sold through than 20.2 million units in global territories.

Sony sold 6.4 million PS4 units in the third quarter, an increase from 4.5 million the year prior. It sold 7.5 million Playstation units total between Oct. and Dec.

The Game and Network Services division recorded $4.3 billion in revenue and operating income of $228 million.
