Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 24,737 units between Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 21,381 units the week prior.
The PS3 sold 5,810 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.
The Order: 1886 ranked as the No. 4 best-selling software for the week selling 25,023 units at launch.
Meanwhile, God Eater 2: Rage Burst PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software for the week selling 37,824 units at launch.
Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Dragon Quest Heroes to the Playstation 4 in 2015.
Dragon Quest Heroes is an action-RPG developed by Omega Force.
The title is said to include an army of enemies and giant monsters designed by artist Akira Toriyama.
Capcom Co. this week said it will launch an online beta program for Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and the PC.
The online beta program will be used to collect feedback from online users. Customers who pre-order the title will be entered into the beta program.
Street Fighter V will feature cross-platform play to unite fighters into a centralized database.
Ubisoft Inc. this week said it will sell the Valley of the Yetis DLC for Far Cry 4 for the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 3 Mar. 10.
The Valley of the Yetis DLC takes place post helicopter crash in Ajay Ghale in which users must fight against new beasts and violent cultists. It includes co-op functionality.
The DLC is included in the Far Cry 4 Season Pass and will be sold separately.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 35,934 units between Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 11,489 units the week prior.
God Eater 2: Rage Burst ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 234,180 units at launch.
Idea Factory International Inc. this week released Hyperdevotion Noire Goddess Black Heart to Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita to U.S. retail.
Hyperdevotion Noire Goddess Black Heart is turn-based strategy RPG in the Hyperdimension Neptunia universe.
In the title, the four goddesses of Gamarket lose their powers and must subsequently save the world from destruction.
The final game includes a SimNoire mode to customize their home with the purchase of furniture and accessories with in-game points.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware increase in Japan post release of a new bundle that includes Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 1,381 units between Feb. 16 to Feb. 22 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 191 units the week prior.
The Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle sells at 39,980 yen ($333 US). Customers who purchase the bundle prior to Mar. 1 will receive a 5,000 yen discount.
Microsoft this week said Fable Legends for the Xbox One and PC will utilize a Free to Play model.
The title will be available for download at no cost for Xbox One and PC owners. In addition, all items that can be used in the game can be earned without purchase.
Finally, users will have the option to purchase items should they choose not to earn them in-game.
Microsoft this week said it will release Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious for the Xbox One Mar. 27.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is stand-alone expansion that will include 11 vehicles from the Fast & Furious films including vehicles from Furious 7.
It will be available to download free between Mar. 27 and Apr. 10. The download will subsequently sell at $10.
Microsoft this week launched Ranked Leagues for Killer Instinct: Season 2 for the Xbox One.
Ranked Leagues is a monthly competition to rank in the top 32 players. The mode begins with a 10-match qualifier to fight in best two-out-of-three matches and be placed in Bronze, Silver or Gold tiers.
Leaderboards will be reset each month.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week released Dragon Ball Xenoverse to U.S. retail.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a fighting title that includes full 3D destructible levels and a Master System to train a custom character with a Dragon Ball character to learn skillsets and strengths.
Bethesda Softworks this week said it will release The Assignment DLC for The Evil Within Mar. 10.
The Assignment is the part one of a two-part DLC that centers on Juli Kidman.
Developed by Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within is a survival horror title in which users utilize limited resources to fight for survival.
Warner Bros. Interactive Inc. this week released the Bright Lord DLC for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to U.S. retail.
In the Bright Lord DLC, users play as Celebrimdor, the Bright Lord, who wields a Ring of Power to challenge Sauron for domination.
The DLC includes a new story campaign with 10 new missions, more powerful enemies, and the Test of the Ring Challenge Mode
Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 6,070 units between Feb. 16 to Feb. 22 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.
It sold 7,007 units the week prior.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ranked as the No. 17 best-selling software for the week.
Nintendo this week said it will sell the Super Mario amiibo – Gold Edition exclusively at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. stores Mar. 10.
The Super Mario amiibo – Gold Edition is a new gold colored Mario from the Super Mario series. It will sell at $12.96.
The product will be compatible with Mario Party 10 in the amiibo Party Mode in addition to other compatible titles.
Mario Party 10, to be sold Mar. 20, includes brand new game boards, mini-games, amiibo party, and brand-new Bowser Party Mode to play as Bowser.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 38,173 units between Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 58,745 units the week prior.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask ranked as the No. 1 software for the week, selling 72,181 units for the week. It has sold 302,246 units to date.
