Sony Corp. this month said the Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 best-selling video game hardware at U.S. retail in Jan.
The data was based on figures provided by NPD Group Inc.
The PS4 has sold more than 18.5 million units in global territories.
More than 81.8 million copies of PS4 software have been sold at retail and via the Playstation Store.
Sony this week said Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 led digital download sales in the Playstation Network division in Jan.
In Jan., Resident Evil ranked as the No. 1 best-selling PS4 and PS3 download title for the month.
In addition, the title was the best-selling day one digital title on the Playstation Network.
The digital release includes the 2002 Resident Evil remake previously released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube, with updated textures and 1080p high-definition graphics on next-generation consoles.
Capcom this week said Resident Evil is the fastest-selling digital download title in company history.
Sony this week released the Universal Rewards and Licensed Equipment Trailer for MLB 15 The Show for the Playstation 4.
The trailer previews new features in the title including Universal Rewards, Licensed Equipment and 30 Legends Cards.
MLB 15 The Show will include Year-to-Year Saves to transfer PS4, PS3, and PS Vita data from MLB 14: The Show to continue Franchise and Road to the Show progress.

The title includes updated graphics and sound, new weapons, vehicles, and activities, denser traffic, additional wildlife, new foliage system, enhanced damage and weather effects, and enhanced radio selections.
Microsoft Corp. this month released the Feb. System Update for the Xbox One.
The Feb. Update includes Game Hubs, Custom Backgrounds and Tile Transparency, TV Trending in OneGuide, and Improved Control of TVs, set-top boxes, and audio/video receivers.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Inc.’s Dying Light ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software at U.S. retail in Jan. in data by NPD Group Inc.
In Jan., Dying Light ranked as the No. 1 software title across all platforms for the month.
Dying Light is a first-person survival horror title set in a zombie-apocalypse open world.
2K Games this week released Evolve to U.S. retail.
Evolve is a four-vs.-one multiplayer first-person shooter in which four users hunt one monster.
Hunter classes include Trapper, Support, Assault or Medic, in addition to character customization options.
Nintendo Co. this week said Wii U hardware and software increased at U.S. retail in the month of Jan.
The company said Wii U hardware sales increased nearly 30 percent and software sales increased nearly 45 percent from the same period one year ago.

The Wii U SKU has sold 1.4 million units at U.S. retail and the Nintendo 3DS SKU has sold 2.1 million units at U.S. retail.
Nintendo this week released the new Nintendo 3DS XL to U.S. retail.
The new Nintendo 3DS XL includes a 4.88-inch screen and up to seven hours of battery life.
In addition, it features a new C-stick for camera controls, new ZL and ZR buttons, new Super-Stable 3D functionality to provide a more comfortable 3D experience, and new NFC technology to support amiibo figurines.
The hardware is sold in Red and Black at $199.99 each.

Bandai Namco Games Inc. this week released Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ for the Nintendo 3DS.
Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ is a flight simulation action title that offers new and added features for the new Nintendo 3DS XL, including new C-stick and ZL/ZR button functionality.
The title was originally release to the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.
Capcom Co. this week released Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS to U.S. retail.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is an online RPG that includes four-player co-op via the Nintendo Network, two new weapon classes, all-new areas, and touch-screen functionality.
