Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 17,392 units between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 13,793 units the week prior.

The PS3 sold 7,211 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.

The PS4 ranked two titles in the top 10, Far Cry 4 at No. 2 and Bladestorm: Nightmare at No. 10.

Sony sold 6.4 million PS4 units in the third quarter, an increase from 4.5 million the year prior. It sold 7.5 million Playstation units total between Oct. and Dec.

The Game and Network Services division recorded $4.3 billion in revenue and operating income of $228 million.

Sony this week released Behind The Scenes Trailer for The Order: 1886 for the Playstation 4.

The trailer features a look at the graphics engine for the title, including textile movement for clothing in the game.

The Order: 1886 is a single-player third-person action adventure with shooting mechanics and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.

Sony this week said it will release MLB 15: The Show 10th Anniversary Edition for the Playstation 4.


The MLB 15: The Show 10th Anniversary Edition will include the game, 10th Anniversary Steelbook and Cover, 12K in Stubs, 15 Bonus Item Packs, 30 MLB Team Dynamic Themes, and the MLB 15 Dynamic Theme at $69.99.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week said Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin for the Playstation 4 will include 1080p and 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity.

In addition, the title will feature upgraded lighting effects and cinematic filters.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, to be sold Apr. 7, includes Dark Souls II and the Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King DLC.

Sony said week released new titles for the Playstation Now streaming service in Feb.

New titles include Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, God of War II HD, Red Faction: Armageddon, Galaga Legions DX, and Arcana Heart 3.

Playstation Now is a cloud-based streaming gaming service that will allow users to access a back catalog of Playstation 3 titles on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita, and the Playstation TV.

Capcom Co. in Jan. released the Updating Barry Trailer for Resident Evil Revelations 2.

The trailerA features the update for veteran Barry Burton and new character Moira Burton.

In Resident Evil Revelations 2 will veteran Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, the daughter of Barry Burton from Resident Evil, are abducted in an abandoned detention facility and face new Afflicted enemies.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 12,392 units between Jan. 26 and Jan. Feb. 1 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 15,580 units the week prior.

It did not rank any software titles in the top 10 for the week.

NIS America Inc. this week released Crimnal Girls: Invite Only for the Playstation Vita.

Criminal Girls: Invite Only is a turn-based RPG in which a crew of girls who have been damned to hell must navigate through the Redemption Program and defeat convicts to redeem themselves.

The final game includes skills, spells, combo attacks, and previously unplayable characters.

Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware in the latest retail data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 222 units between Jan. 26 to Feb. 1 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 259 units the week prior.

Microsoft said it will sell the Xbox One with Kinect at $449 in a special promotion.

From Feb. 8 to Feb. 21, consumers can purchase the Xbox One with Kinect at $449 at U.S. retailers, including Best Buy Co. Inc., Amazon.com Inc., GameStop Corp., Target Corp., and Toys R Us Inc. stores.

The stand-alone Xbox One hardware currently sells at $349.00

Microsoft this week said the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta recorded 20 million multiplayer matches in the preview session.

In addition, the Multiplayer Beta logged 2.5 million gameplay hours.

The Multiplayer Beta concluded Jan. 18, 2015. It featured 4 vs. 4 combat in seven maps and three game types.

Microsoft this week released the Top Gear Car Pack DLC to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One to the Xbox Live division.

The Forza Horizon 2 Top Gear Car Pack DLC offers vehicles including the 2015 Lexus RC F, 1993 Jaguar XJ220, 2014 BMW M235i, 1986 Lamborghini LM002, and the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale.

It sells at $5.00.

Take Two Interactive Software, Inc. Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V for Playstation 4 and Xbox One has sold 10 million units.

In addition, the title has sold-in more than 45 million units total across all platforms.

The GTA V PC SKU will launch Mar. 24.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Universal Partnerships & Licensing said it will release LEGO Jurassic World this summer.

The title will include all three Jurassic Park films and the latest film in the franchise, Jurassic World.

The title will feature key scenes and action sequences from the films to allow user to explore Isla Numblar and Isla Sorna.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fifth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 6,807 units between Jan. 26 to Feb. 1 to rank at No. 5 in overall sales.

It sold 7,088 units the week prior.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse ranked as the No. 8 best-selling software for the week. It has sold 45,005 units since launch in Jan.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 44,229 units between Jan. 19 and Jan. 25 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 57,674 units the week prior.

Devil Survivor 2: Break Record ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 53,264 units at launch.

Finally, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ranked at the No. 9 best-selling software for the week.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week previewed amiibo integration for Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ for the Nintendo 3DS.

Select amiibo figures will unlock character-themed skins and aircraft parameter settings, including the Mario F-22 and the Bowser A-10A.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+, to be sold Feb. 13, is a flight simulation action title that offers new and added features for the new Nintendo 3DS XL, including new C-stick and ZL/ZR button functionality.

Capcom Co. this week released Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Demo Version for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop division.

The Demo Version includes solo and four-player co-op local and online functionality and hundreds of quests.
