Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 15,480 units between Jan. 12 and Jan. 18 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 19,118 units the week prior.
The PS3 sold 7,036 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.
The Grand Theft Auto V PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 11 software for the week.
Sony this month said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Destiny for the Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling digital title in the Playstation Network division in 2014.
For 2014, Destiny ranked as the No. 1-selling PS4 and PS3 title for the year.
In addition, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V for the Playstation 4 ranked in the top three best-selling PS4 digital software title at the Playstation Network division in 2014.
In 2014, Grand Theft Auto V ranked as the No. 2 best-selling PS4 title at the Playstation Store for the year.
The title includes updated graphics and sound, new weapons, vehicles, and activities, denser traffic, additional wildlife, new foliage system, enhanced damage and weather effects, and enhanced radio selections.
Sony this week released the Story Trailer for The Order: 1886 for the Playstation 4.
The trailer features Galahad, a member of an elite order of Knights in a battle against a powerful, ancient enemy.
The Order: 1886 is a single-player third-person action adventure with shooting mechanics and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.
The final game will include a linear story-based mode.
Capcom Co. this week released Resident Evil.
The digital release includes the 2002 Resident Evil remake previously released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube, with updated textures and 1080p high-definition graphics on next-generation consoles.
In addition, the title features 5.1 surround sound support and an option between 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 classic ratio.
Finally, users can toggle between the original Resident Evil tank control scheme or new current standard analog stick control movement.
Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 17,505 units between Jan. 12 and Jan. 18 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 22,327 units the week prior.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware in the latest retail data from Japan.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 300 units between Jan. 12 to Jan. 18 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 563 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week said it will release State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition for the Xbox One Apr. 28.
State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition will include the base game and enhanced DLCs Breakdown and Lifeline with new Danforth location and military unit perspective.
The final game will include 1080p high definition resolution graphics, lighting changes, and increased draw distance.
It will sell at $29.99.
Creative Assembly this week said Sega Corp.’s Alien: Isolation has sold one million units at global retail.
Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror title that includes Amanda Ripley, daughter of franchise veteran Ellen Ripley.
2K Games and Gearbox Software this week said it will release Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Mar. 24.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will include Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and all DLC at $59.99.
The titles will be remastered in HD and users can transfer their current save files from the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita to the next-gen title.
The final game will include a four-player split-screen co-op option.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week said it will release DLC packs Dragon Ball Xenoverse to U.S. retail.
Three DLC packs will be sold in a Season Pass at $24.99 or $9.99 each. The first DLC pack will be sold in Mar.
DLC Pack 1 will include GT Goku, Pan and GT Trunks, 4 Time Patrol Quests, 12 Quests, 15 Special Moves, and 5 additional costumes.
DLC Pack 2 will feature exclusive playable characters, quests, special moves, and costumes.
DLC Pack 3 will include Jack he Space Patroller, Turtle Helmet set, and exclusive content.
Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 8,894 units between Jan. 12 to Jan. 18 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.
It sold 10,803 units the week prior.
Super Smash Bros for Wii U ranked as the No. 6 best-selling software for the week. It has sold 560,986 units in the region to date.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 44,229 units between Jan. 12 and Jan. 18 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 57,674 units the week prior.
Yo-Kai Watch 2 ranked as the No. 1 software for the week. It has sold 2.37M units since launch. Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire ranked as the No. 2 software for the week. The titles have sold 2.45 million units in the region to date.
Nintendo this week said it will discontinue the Club Nintendo rewards program in June.
The company said it will announce a new customer loyalty program at a later date.
Club Nintendo allows members to register Nintendo products and answer survey questions for coins that could be redeemed for games and limited merchandise.
As a gift to current members, the company will offer the Flipnote Studio 3D software free for download in Feb.
Members can earn additional coins through the end of Mar. and can redeem coins through the end of June.
