Sharp Corp. this week announced new Beyond 4K UHD TV sets at the International CES in Las Vegas, NV.
The Beyond 4K UHD TV features proprietary pixel splitting and Quattron technologies to display 66 million subpixels, 42 million more than standard 4K Ultra HD. The TV is said to deliver 167 percent greater resolution than traditional 4K UHD to near 8K resolution.
The TV will be sold in 80-inch format and be sold in late 2015.
Additional 4K Ultra HD TVs from Sharp include new 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch class screens starting at under $750.
Finally, new UH30 series TVs will feature the Android TV platform to offer movies, apps, and games from Google Play.
