Sony Corp. this week it has restored the Playstation Network after an outage that began Dec. 25.

The company said PSN is back online for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita.

On Dec. 25, the Playstation Network incurred an outage that prevented users from logging into the service.

The company said PSN was attacked with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity.

Sony said it sold 3.5 million Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 hardware units combined in the Q1 2014.

The Games and Network Services division held a profit of $41.8 million in the quarter.
