Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 22 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 68,041 units between Dec. 8 and Dec. 14 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 15,971 units the week prior.
The PS3 sold 7,803 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.
Grand Theft Auto V ranked as the No. 3 software for the week, selling 81,659 units at launch.
Sony this week previewed new Chalice Dungeons found in Bloodborne for the Playstation 4.
Chalice Dungeons allow users to venture in underground ruins located beneath the main city by using holy chalices.
The dungeons are filled with traps, creatures and treasures. In addition, users can upload dungeons for other users to try.
Bloodborne, to be sold Mar. 24, is a medieval action title developed by From Software and SCE Japan Studio.
NIS America Inc. this week said it will release Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance to the Playstation 4 in fall 2015.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will feature a brand new cast of characters in which users lead Killia and his army of rebels against the overlord Dark Void.
The final game will include turn-based strategy and trademark franchise gameplay.
Rockstar Games’ this week released the Heists Trailer for Grand Theft Online.
The trailer features the Heists mode, a four-player co-op component that allows users to plan, prepare, and execute multi-tiered heists across Los Santos and Blaine County.
Grand Theft Auto Online is a persistent online world for up to 16 players in which users can complete missions alone with friends and compete in traditional game modes.
Aksys Games this week released Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- to the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is a 2D fighting title that will include enhanced fighting mechanics, an expanded Roman Cancel, and new characters.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week said it will release Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 in 2015.
Developed by CyberConnect2, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 will feature offline and online one-on-one multiplayer modes.
The final game is in development exclusively for next-generation hardware for enhanced graphics fidelity.

Microsoft this week released the Multiplayer Beta Trailer for Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.
The trailer features a preview of new maps, modes, weapons, and Spartan Abilities featured in 4-vs.-4 multiplayer.
Halo 5: Guardians is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.
It is said to be larger than Halo 4, run at a 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity, and feature dedicated servers.
Microsoft this week released the Storm Island Expansion to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One to the Xbox Live division.
