Nintendo Co. this week said Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software in Nov. at U.S. retail.
In data by NPD Group Inc., Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software across all platforms in Nov.
The company said the title has sold nearly 710,000 units in the U.S. to date.
Super Smash Bros. includes brand new features including Smash Tour: World Smash, a board game mode; Special Smash Mode to fight with special parameters; Coin Battles to compete to collect coins; Stamina Matches to fight until hit points reach zero; Classic Mode to allow one or two players to fight through a series of battles; All-Star Mode to fight opponents in chronological, and Event Mode for one or two players to take on set character and theme-based battles.
The 8-player Smash Mode allows eight players to fight simultaneously in local multiplayer in larger stages.
In addition, the title includes custom stage creation functionality via the Wii U GamePad, and the option to import custom Nintendo 3DS fighters to the Wii U SKU.
Customers who purchase both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS SKU will receive a two-disc music soundtrack after registration at Club Nintendo and Mewtwo as a free DLC. The Mewtwo fighter will be available in spring 2015.
Both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS SKU include online multiplayer functionality to battle users on their respective platforms.
Each SKU includes a distinct set of battle arenas.
