Nintendo Co. this week said amiibo figure sales are equal to sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has sold 710,000 units in the U.S. to date.

Best-selling figures include Link, Mario, and Pikachu.

amiibo is a new line of NFC-enabled toy figures that can transfer the character and respective data to the Wii U GamePad.

amiiboWave 3, to be sold in Feb., includes Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Toon Link, Ike, Sheik, Bowser, King Dedede, Shulk, Lucario, Meta Knight, Rosalina and Luma.

Wave 2, to be sold in Dec., includes Luigi, Zelda, Little Mac, Captain Falco, Pit, and Diddy Kong.

Wave 1 includes Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Samus, Yoshi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, Fox, and Villager.
