Research firm InfoScout this week said Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One outsold Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 during the Black Friday shopping session.

The firm said the Xbox One held a 53 percent market share of console sales during the period.

By comparison, the PS4 held a 31 percent market share.

Nintendo Co.’s Wii U held a six percent market share in the same period.

The Xbox One was discounted to $329.99 with two game titles during Black Friday, with select retailers offering bonus gift cards with the purchase of the console bundle.

Microsoft in Nov. said the Xbox One has shipped 10 million units to global retail.
