Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 10,078 units between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 8,906 units at launch the week prior.

The PS3 sold 5,066 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

The Evil Within PS3 SKU ranked as the No. 15 best-selling software title for the week.

Sony this week released the System Software Update v2.02 for the .

System Software Update v2.02 is said to offer improved system stability.

Sony this week said it will launch Playstation Vue, a cloud-based TV service, to the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.

The service will feature on-demand TV, the option to save shows to the cloud, and Search and Explore functions to narrow program results.

Playstation Vue will begin an invite-only beta preview in Nov. to select PS4 and PS3 owners, and carry around 75 channels per market from national programmers and local broadcast station.

Playstation Vue will launch commercially in the first quarter of 2015.

Sony this week said it will release Bloodborne for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail Mar. 24, 2015.

It was previously scheduled to be released Feb. 6, 2015.

SCE Japan Studio cited additional development time for the delay.

Bloodborne is a medieval action title developed by From Software and SCE Japan Studio.

Sony this month said DriveClub ranked in the top five best-selling titles for the Playstation 4 in the Playstation Network division.

In Oct., DriveClub ranked as the No. 5 best-selling digital download title for the PS4.

Developed by Evolution Studios, DriveClub is a racing simulation title that features social networking functionality to allow users to form racing groups and race with friends.

Sony this month said Bethesda Softworks’ The Evil Within ranked in the top five best-selling titles for the Playstation 4 in the Playstation Network division.

In Oct., The Evil Within ranked as the No. 4 best-selling digital download title for the PS4.

Developed by Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within is a survival horror title in which users utilize limited resources to fight for survival.

Sony this week titles from EA Inc. will be available for the Playstation Now service Dec. 2.

Titles include Mirror’s Edge, Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 3, NBA Jam On Fire Edition, and Bejeweled 3.

The service includes more than 150 titles including God of War: Ascension, Infamous, and Ultra Street Fighter IV.

Retailer Amazon.com Inc. price cut Sony Corp.’s Playstation TV hardware to $79.

This week, the Playstation TV sells at $79.99, down from the $99.99 MSRP.

In addition, the Playstation TV bundle was discounted to $99.99 from $139.99.

Sony this month said Sega Corp.’s Alien: Isolation ranked in the top 10 best-selling titles for the Playstation 4 in the Playstation Network.

In Oct., Alien: Isolation ranked as the No. 10 best-selling digital download title for the PS4.

Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror title that includes Amanda Ripley, daughter of franchise veteran Ellen Ripley.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 10,552 units between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 11,406 units the week prior.

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2014 ranked at No. 5 for the week.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 25 units to rank at No. 8 in the same period.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week released Tales of Hearts R for the PS Vita to U.S. retail.

Tales of Hearts R features Kor, a young man who must restore a young woman’s heart and soul.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware at launch in Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 513 units between Nov. 3 to Nov. 9 rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 599 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week said it has sold in nearly 10 million units of the Xbox One hardware to global retail.

In addition, the company said the hardware led next-generation console sales for the past two weeks.

In Nov., Microsoft price cut all Xbox One hardware and bundles by $50.

Microsoft this month released the November System Update for the Xbox One.

The Nov. Update includes Custom Backgrounds, new Live TV and Twitter integration, Store improvements, SmartGlass updates, and Internet Explorer updates.

343 Studios this week said the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will run at 720p resolution at 60 frames-per-second.

The developer added it is not the final resolution for the game.

The Multiplayer Beta will run between Dec. 29, 2014 and Jan. 18, 2015. It will feature 4 vs. 4 combat in seven maps and three game types.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released Assassin’s Creed Unity to U.S. retail.

In addition, it released Assassin’s Creed Rogue to U.S. retail.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 4,787 units between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 4,696 units the week prior.

The LEGO Movie Video Game ranked as the No. 9 best-selling software for the week.

Nintendo this month said amiibo NFC figure Wave 3 products will be sold in Feb. 2015 at U.S. retail.

Wave 3 characters include Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Toon Link, Ike, Sheik, Bowser, King Dedede, Shulk, Lucario, Meta Knight, Rosalina and Luma.

Nintendo this week said pre-order sales for Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U are greater than Mario Kart 8.

In addition, Nintendo this week began pre-load functionality for to customers who pre-purchase the title at the Nintendo eShop.

Developed by Big Button Entertainment, the new action-adventure title introduces new exploration and combat to the franchise with trademark characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 79,217 units between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 69,673 units the week prior.

Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ranked as No. 1 software and Super Smash Bros. ranked at No. 3 for the week.

Nintendo this week said it will sell new Nintendo 2DS Crystal Red and Crystal Blue SKUs at $99.99 each beginning Nov. 21 at U.S. retail.

The hardware features a semi-transparent case in Red or Blue.

Sega Corp. this week Valkyria Chronicles for the PC ranked as the No. 1 title on Steam in the first 24 hours of sale.

The strategy RPG title, previously released to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, includes all prior DLC – the Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selveria’s Mission, and the Challenge of the Edy Detachment.
