Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 4 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 8,046 units between Oct. 13 and Oct. 19 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 11,697 units at launch the week prior.

The PS3 sold 4,779 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Destiny for the PS3 ranked as the No. 15 best-selling title for the week.

Sony this month said the Playstation 4 is the top-platform for Destiny based on units sold.

Based on internal estimates by Activision Blizzard Inc., the PS4 is the top platform for Destiny based on units sold through Oct. 4.

In addition, Destiny ranked as the top-selling pre-order, day-one, week one and month one sales for the Playstation Store.

Also, company said Playstation Plus subscriptions increased 115 percent from the week prior to the launch of Destiny.

Tecmo Koei Corp. this week said it will release Samurai Warriors 4 for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita to U.S. retail.

Samurai Warriors 4 is a strategy action title set in the 1600s. The title includes 55 new and updated, new battle modes, and Chronicle Mode to utilize a custom character.

Flying Wild Hog this week released Shadow Warrior to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4.

The title, originally released to the PC in 1997, is a first-person shooter / slasher that includes 17 chapters.

The remastered version features special powers, skills and weapon customization, and PS4 Dualshock touchpad support.

Sony this month previewed new features in the System Software Update v2.0 for the .

New features include YouTube support to upload captured videos to the service, Share Play will allow two Playstation Plus members to pass the controller to each other online, USB Music Player to play music from a USB flash drive, Theme color change options, an improved Content Area, and enhanced voice commands.

The update will launch this fall.

Sega Corp. this week said it will release the Corporate Lockdown DLC Alien: Isolation Oct. 28.

Corporate Lockdown includes three new challenge maps in Survivor Mode – Severance, Scorched Earth, and Loose Ends. It features Seegson Executive Ransome in an escape from Sevastapol to the Torrens.

It sells at $7.99.

Future DLC includes Trauma, Safe Haven, Lost Contact, and The Trigger.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 9,391 units between Oct. 13 and Oct. 19 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 9,298 units the week prior.

The PS Vita ranked three titles in the top 10, including Chaos Ring III: Prequel Trilogy at No. 4.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 100 units to rank at No. 8 in the same period.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware at launch in Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 728 units between Oct. 13 to Oct. 19 rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 809 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any software titles in the top 10.

Microsoft this week said the Xbox One and Xbox 360 sold 2.4 million units combined in the first quarter.

The platform was launched to 28 markets in the period.

In addition, Xbox platform revenue increased 58 percent from the year prior due to higher console sales.

The Xbox One Special Edition Sunset Overdrive Bundle sold out this week at Inc. due to high demand.

This week, the Xbox One Special Edition Sunset Overdrive Bundle held a sold out status in Amazon’s Video Games division.

The bundle, to be sold Oct. 28, will include the Xbox One Cirrus White 500GB hardware, Cirrus White Wireless Controller, Sunset Overdrive game download with Day One Bonus Content, and Xbox One Headset at $399.99.

Microsoft Corp. this month said Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One will issue a content update download.

The content update download, estimated at 20GB, will be available at launch and includes some content and multiplayer features.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection, to be sold Nov. 11, will include Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 on a single-disc with 60 frames-per-second, 1080p graphics and sound.

Microsoft this week released the trailer for Halo Nightfall from the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One.

The trailer features story and action from the live action series.

Halo Nightfall, included in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, is a live action series that will lead to Halo 5: Guardians.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Launch Trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The trailer features campaign and multiplayer gameplay from the final game.

Ubisoft Inc. this week previewed the Season Pass for Far Cry 4.

The Far Cry 4 Season Pass will include The Syringe, an exclusive day-one single-player or co-op mission; Escape for Durghesh Prison, a prison break co-op mission; the Hurk Deluxe Pack, five missions in single-player or co-op; and Overrun, a new PvP mode to control neutral locations.

It will sell at $29.99.

CD Projekt RED this week released the The Trail Trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The trailer features the opening cinematic which includes Geralt of Rivia and his mentor Vesemir in pursuit of the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg.

Bandai Namco Games Inc. this month said it will distribute Project Cars in Mar. 2015.

The title was previously scheduled to be sold Nov. 18.

The delay is said to move the title out of the competitive holiday season and allow the developer additional time to polish the game.

Developed by Slightly Mad Studios, Project Cars is crowd-funded racing title that includes driver customization, motorsport selection, multiplayer online functionality, dynamic weather system, and tuning and pit stop functionality.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked third in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 5,293 units between Oct. 13 and Oct. 19 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 6,309 units the week prior.

Mario Kart 8 ranked as the No. 8 best-selling software for the week.

Nintendo Co. this week released Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U.

Developed by Platinum Games, Bayonetta 2 features brand new sensationalized action sequences and new touch-based control options.

The title includes fast-paced third-person action, 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity, and large boss encounters.

Nintendo this week said Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U will be compatible with the Link amiibo figure.

Amiibo functionality details were not disclosed.

amiibo, to be sold Nov. 21, is a new line of NFC-enabled toy figures that can transfer the character and respective data to the Wii U GamePad.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 113,238 units between Oct. 13 and Oct. 19 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 261,873 units the week prior.

Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ranked as No. 1 software and Super Smash Bros. ranked at No. 2 for the week.

Nintendo this week released Fantasy Life for the Nintendo 3DS.

Developed by Level 5, Fantasy Life is a life, RPG simulation that includes 12 classes, an open world, and co-op local wireless functionality.

The final game crafting, hunting, battling, and room customization options.

Nintendo this week released Pokemon Art Academy to the Nintendo 3DS.

Pokemon Art Academy is a Pokemon-themed version of the Art Academy series that includes 40 unique lessons to learn how to paint and sketch.

The franchise includes step-by-step guides that teach painting and drawing techniques.

The final game features key Pokemon, including Pikachu, Oshawott, Charizard, Torchic, Fletching and Fennkin.
