Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 261,873 units between Oct. 6 and Oct. 12 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 22,490 units the week prior.

Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate ranked as No. software for the week selling 1.44 million units at launch. Super Smash Bros. ranked at No. 2 for the week.

For the fiscal quarter ended June 30, Nintendo held a $97 million loss.

In addition, the Nintendo 3DS handheld sold 820,000 units in the quarter, a decline from 1.4 million units one year ago.
