Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 4 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 7,350 units between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 8,033 units at launch the week prior.

The PS3 sold 5,365 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX for the PS3 ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software title for the week at launch.

Sony this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Destiny for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 ranked as the top-selling title in the Playstation Network division in Sept.

In Sept., Destiny ranked as the No. 1-selling PS4 and PS3 title for the month.

Sony this week released DriveClub for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail.

Developed by Evolution Studios, DriveClub is a racing simulation title that features social networking functionality to allow users to form racing groups and race with friends.

DriveClub PS Plus Edition for the Playstation 4 has not been released due to online connectivity issues.

Developer Evolution Studios said this week that it will hold back the release of the PS Plus Edition in order to ease the traffic load to users who purchased the full version of the game.

In addition, it will release new updates for the game servers to improve connectivity.

It concluded that the PS Plus Edition will be released when the servers operate normally.

Sony this week said Mojang AB’s Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition for the Playstation 4 ranked in the top three sales in the Playstation Network division in Sept.

In Sept., Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition ranked as the No. 2 best-selling PS4 title.

The title includes four-player split-screen local multiplayer and eight player online multiplayer functionality.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 14,432 units between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 16,716 units the week prior.

The PS Vita ranked three titles in the top 10, including DanganRonpa: Another Episode at No. 5.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 84 units to rank at No. 8 in the same period.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware at launch in Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 1,062 units between Sept. 29 to Oct. 5 rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 1,113 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any software titles in the top 10.

Microsoft this week announced six classic multiplayer maps for the Halo 2 Anniversary component of Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One.

The six re-imagined multiplayer maps include Ascension, Coagulation, Zanzibar, Sanctuary, Lockout, and Warlock.

Microsoft this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the Xbox One is now available for pre-download.

The pre-download option is available to consumers who pre-order the Xbox One digital SKU via Xbox Live. The download will be active Nov. 3.

Sega Corp. this week released Alien: Isolation to U.S. retail.

Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror title that includes Amanda Ripley, daughter of franchise veteran Ellen Ripley.

The title takes place 15 years after the first Alien film with Amanda in a mission to uncover the truth about her mother’s disappearance.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released the Story Trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity.

The trailer previews Arno and his path for redemption.

Assassin’s Creed Unity takes place in the open world of 18th century France and features new assassin Arno and brand new parkour mechanics to free run down walls and buildings.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released the Lowlands Trailer for Far Cry 4.

The trailer features vehicles, weapons, and characters found in the Lowlands region of Kyrat.

Far Cry 4, to be sold Nov. 18, will take place in Kyrat, an untamed, mountainous region ruled by a self-appointed king.

Ubisoft Inc. this week said it will release The Crew Dec. 2.

The title was previously scheduled to be released Nov. 11.

The Crew is a persistent online world to allow users to play four-player co-op in every race, enter in timed challenges, or drive in distant open-world locations across the U.S.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked third in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 7,805 units between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 to rank at No. 3 in overall sales.

It sold 9,950 units the week prior.

It did not rank any software in the top 10 for the week.

Nintendo Co. this week said it will release Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U Nov. 21 to U.S. retail.

Nintendo this week said it will release the Wii U GameCube Controller and Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter Nov. 21.

The Wii U GameCube Controller features the Super Smash Bros. insignia and sells at $29.99.


The Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter allows up to four GameCube or WaveBird controllers to connect sells at $19.99.

The Super Smash Bros. Bundle will include the game, Nintendo GameCube Super Smash Bros. Edition Controller, and Nintendo GameCube Adapter for Wii U at $99.99.

Finally, new amiibo NFC figure products will be sold Nov. 21 at U.S. retail.

Nintendo this week said it will release Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Wii U Dec. 5.

The 3D puzzle title allows users to rotate a three-dimensional block to solve puzzles at all angles.

Nintendo this week released the demo for Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U to the Nintendo eShop.

The demo features trademark action and two-player online co-op functionality.

Developed by Platinum Games, Bayonetta 2 will feature brand new sensationalized action sequences and new touch-based control options.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 22,490 units between Sept. 29 and Oct. 5 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 30,439 units the week prior.

It ranked two titles in the top 10, with Super Smash Bros. at No. 1. The title has sold 1.48 million copies since launch.

Konami Corp. this week said Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be sold for the PC via Steam Dec. 18.
