Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 23,623 units between Sept. 8 to Sept. 14 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 7,299 units at launch the week prior.
The PS3 sold 6,083 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.
The Destiny PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 91,277 units at launch. The PS3 SKU ranked at No. 3 selling 49,503 in the same period.
Sony this week said it will release Bloodborne to the Playstation 4 Feb. 6, 2015 to U.S. retail.
Bloodborne is a medieval action title developed by From Software and SCE Japan Studio.
The title will include fast-paced offensive combat with transforming weapons, character customization and progression, and online co-op functionality.
The Collector’s Edition SKU will include a SteelBook Case, Premium Art Book and Digital Soundtrack at $79.99.
Mojang AB this week said it will release Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition to the Playstation 4 Oct. 7.
The title includes four-player split-screen local multiplayer and eight player online multiplayer functionality.
Sony this week released the Tools of the Trade Trailer for The Order: 1886 for the Playstation 4.
The trailer the development of in-game weaponry for the final game.
The Order: 1886 is a single-player third-person action adventure with shooting mechanics and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.
The final game will include a linear story-based mode.
Flying Wild Hog this week said it will release Shadow Warrior to the Playstation 4 this fall.
The title, originally released to the PC in 1997, is a first-person shooter / slasher that includes 17 chapters.
The remastered version will feature special powers, skills and weapon customization, and PS4 Dualshock touchpad support.
The final game will utilize the Road Hog engine for 60 frames-per-second and 1080p graphics fidelity.
Sony this week released free multiplayer and co-op maps for Killzone: Shadow Fall for the Playstation 4.
New maps include The Statue Competitive Multiplayer Map, The ATAC Tower Cooperative Map, and The Canal Cooperative Map.
Tecmo Koei Corp. this week released the Battle Trailer for Samurai Warriors 4 for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita.
The trailer features large-scale in-game battles from the new entry.
Samurai Warriors 4, to be sold Oct. 21, is a strategy action title set in the 1600s. The title includes 55 new and updated, new battle modes, and Chronicle Mode to utilize a custom character.
Sony this week deployed the Playstation Now Open Beta for the Playstation 3.
The Playstation Now PS3 Open Beta will allow customers the option to play select Playstation 3 titles via data streaming.
The service includes more than 150 titles including God of War: Ascension, Infamous, and Ultra Street Fighter IV.
NIS America Inc. this week released Fairy Fencer F to the Playstation 3 to U.S. retail.
Fairy Fencer F is a turn-based RPG in which users can obtain weapons called Furies and utilize their abilities in battle.
The final game includes a Challenge System to maximize stats, and Japanese and English voice options.
It sells at $49.99.
Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 13,148 units between Sept. 8 and Sept. 14 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 15,351 units the week prior.
The PS Vita ranked one title in the top 10, Toukiden: The Age of Demons Extreme at No. 7.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 101 units to rank at No. 7 in the same period.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked as the No. 6 hardware at launch in Japan.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 3,015 units between Sept. 8 to Sept. 14 rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 25,764 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week said it will release Killer Instinct: Season 2 for the Xbox One to the Xbox Live division Oct. 15.
The Ultra Edition will include eight fighters, alternate costumes and accessory packs, and Killer Instinct 2 Classic port with full multiplayer support at $39.99.
The Combo Breaker Edition with eight fighters will sell at $19.99.
The Killer Instinct: Season 1 retail disc SKU will be sold Sept. 23 at $19.99.
Microsoft this week said it will release the Launch Bonus Car Pack DLC to Forza Horizon 2 for the Xbox One Sept. 30.
The Forza Horizon 2 Launch Bonus Car Pack DLC will offer eight downloadable vehicles at no cost, including the 1956 Ford F-100, 2015 Ford Mustang GT, 2003 Ford Focus RS, the 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, and the 1993 Clio Williams.
Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Final Fantasy Type-0 HD to the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One in Mar. 2015.
The title, released in 2011 for the PSP in Japan, will include remastered graphics and sound, and 14 members with distinct weapons, ability, and combat options.
In addition, it will include a demo for Final Fantasy XV.
It sells at $59.99.
Sega Corp. this week said it will release Survivor Mode DLC for Alien: Isolation.
Survivor Mode is a time-based challenge game mode that pits the player and the alien with limited resources on one map.
The title will ship with one playable map – Basement. The first of five Survival Mode DLC all-ons will be sold Oct. 28, each with new maps, challenges, characters and enemy types. Content will be released through Mar. 2015.
In addition, users can purchase the Alien: Isolation Season Pass to pre-purchase all DLC at a discounted price.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week released Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution to U.S. retail.
Developed by CyberConnect2, the title includes brand new gameplay mechanics like Combination Ultimate Jujitsu Attacks and 100 playable characters.
The Day One Edition offers costume DLC, including Naruto dressed as Sasuke, Itachi Uchiha with Akatsuki apron, and a short story anime.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 39,569 units between Sept. 8 and Sept. 14 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 29,555 units the week prior.
It ranked five titles in the top 10, Super Smash Bros. at No. 1 selling 944,644 units at launch.
Nintendo this week released the Super Smash Bros. demo for the Nintendo 3DS.
The demo offers unlimited play with five characters – Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man – in the Battlefield stage.
The 3DS SKU, to be sold Oct. 3, will feature 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity in stereoscopic 3D. In addition, it will include an exclusive mode called Smash Run which four players have five minutes to explore the dungeon and enter the battle arena with newly acquired items.
