Microsoft Corp. this week said Xbox One sales nearly doubled in Aug. at U.S. retail amid strong demand for the Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle.
The sales figure is based on a month-to-month comparison against Xbox One sales in July.
The company cited strong demand for the Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle as a contributing factor to increased hardware sales.
The Xbox One standard edition without Kinect is sold at $399.00.
Between Apr. to June, Microsoft shipped 1.1 million units of Xbox hardware. Xbox revenue increased 14 percent to $104 million from the year prior.
The Xbox One has sold five million units to retailers in global markets.
The Xbox One features an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.
