Sony Corp.’s Playstation Network division went Aug. 24 prior to a scheduled maintenance.

The company told consumers that the PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network were impacted by an attempt to overwhelm the networks with artificially high traffic, also known as a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack.

Best Buy Co. Inc. this week said it will offer an exclusive Destiny T-Shirt at the midnight launch for Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Destiny.

NIS America Inc. this month released the Adapt to Survive Trailer for Natural Doctrine for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita.

The trailer features strategic battles against difficult enemies.

Natural Doctrine, to be sold Sept. 23, is a tactical strategy RPG that includes single and multiplayer modes with versus and co-op functionality.

The final game includes a turn-based battle system on a large-scale battlefield, high difficulty, and Cross play and Cross save functionality.

Hello Games this week said it will release Joe Danger to the Playstation Vita Sept. 2.

The PS Vita version includes 84 levels, 25 characters, 60 frames-per-second graphics and support for inputs like analog sticks and touch screens.

Sony this week released Freedom Wars DLC to Soul Sacrifice Delta for the Playstation Vita.

The Freedom Wars DLC includes boss Dionaea, costumes, and new attacks.

Microsoft this week released the Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle to U.S. retail.

The bundle includes the Xbox One standard edition hardware, Madden NFL 15 download code, wireless controller, chat headset, and three Ultimate Team Pro Packs at $399.99.

EA Inc. this week released Madden NFL 15 to U.S. retail.

Madden NFL 15 includes all-new player lock camera angles, pass rush tools, open-field tackle mechanics and improved AI.

The final game includes pre-game and halftime shows.

Microsoft this week said it will sell the Kinect sensor for the Xbox One Oct. 7 at $149.99.

The stand-alone sensor will include Dance Central Spotlight.

Ubisoft Inc. this week said it will release Assassin’s Creed Unity Nov. 11.

The title was previously scheduled to be released Oct. 28. The publisher cited additional development time to refine the game.

In addition, a Day 1 patch is said to provide more improvements to the title.

The Xbox One Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle ranked in the top 15 ‘Most Wished For’ products at Inc. due to building demand.

The Xbox One Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle, to be sold Nov. 4, will include the custom Xbox One 1TB hardware, custom Wireless Controller, Limited Edition Exoskeleton, and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Day Zero Edition at $499.99.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week released The Crown of the Old Iron King DLC for Dark Souls II.

The Crown of the Old Iron King DLC includes a new environment to conquer, enemies, traps and bosses.

It sells at $9.99.

Nintendo Co. this week said new amiibo NFC figurine products will sell at $12.99 each this holiday.

Pre-order characters include Mario, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Samus, Yoshi, Peach, Donkey Kong, Marth, Wii Fit Trainer, Fox, and Villager.

Nintendo this week said it will sell the Super Mario 3D World Wii U Deluxe Set in mid-Sept. at $299.99 at U.S. retail.

The bundle will include the Wii U 32GB Deluxe Set and physical copies of Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land.

Nintendo this week said Shulk will be playable characters in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Shulk is from Xenoblade Chronicles and wields the Monado sword which can change features and abilities.

Nintendo this week said it will release free DLC update to Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U at launch.

The DLC will include a new mode, a new weapon and option to select music.

Customers who pre-order the title will receive a free download code for alternate in-game costumes for Link and Zelda. In addition, customers who register the title with Club Nintendo will receive alternate in-game costumes for Ganondorf.

Nintendo this week said it will sell new Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo LL hardware in Japan Oct. 11.

The new Nintendo 3DS will include a larger 3.88-inch screen and up to six hours of battery life. It will sell at 16,000 yen.

The new Nintendo 3DS LL will include a 4.88-inch screen and up to seven hours of battery life. It will sell at 18,800 yen.

Both will feature a new C-stick for camera controls, new ZL and ZR buttons, new Super-Stable 3D functionality to provide a more comfortable 3D experience, and new NFC technology to support amiibo figurines.

The new Nintendo 3DS and LL hardware will be sold in the U.S. at a to be determined date.

Nintendo this week said it will sell new Nintendo 2DS bundles at U.S. retail in early Oct.

The bundles will feature hardware in Electric Blue, Crimson Red or Sea Green and a Mario Kart 7 download code at $129.99.

Nintendo and Capcom Co. this week released Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the Nintendo 3DS to U.S. retail.

The title includes Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright in a joint partnership to solve a brand new mystery.

The final game combines puzzle and courtroom elements found in both franchises.

The Pokemon Company this week said it will release Pokken Tournament to arcades in Japan.

The fighting title, developed in partnership with Bandai Namco Games Inc., is a brand new fighter that features trademark Pokemon characters in 1 vs. 1 battles.

The title will be released in 2015.
