Sony Corp. this week said the Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling video game hardware at July U.S. retail.
The hardware has held the No. 1 sales rank in the U.S. for seven consecutive months.
The PS4 has sold more than 10 million units in global territories.
The sales mark is as of Aug. 10, 2014.
More than 30 million copies of PS4 software have been sold at retail and via the Playstation Store.
The PS4 utilizes a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. In addition, the hardware features a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.
It sells at $399.99.
