Sony Corp. this week said System Software Update v2.0 for the Playstation 4 will include Share Play functionality.

Share Play will allow two Playstation Plus members to pass the controller to each other online. In addition, a user can invite another player to play in online competitive or co-op sessions without the requirement for the second player to own the game.

The update will launch this fall.

The PS4 hardware utilizes a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. In addition, the hardware features a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.

It has sold more than 10 million units in global markets.
