Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 5 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 5,695 units between July 28 to Aug. 3 to rank No. 5 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 5,581 units at launch the week prior.
The hardware ranked one title in the top 25, FIFA 14 at No. 21.
The PS3 sold 6,605 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.
Sony this week released Killzone: Shadow Fall Intercept for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Store.
Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept is a brand new four-player online co-op mode in which users band together to form the VSA team Intelligence Squad Alpha.
Sony this week released new titles for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.
New titles available include Road Not Taken and The Swapper.
Road Not Taken is a 2D puzzle title that includes creatures, obstacles and boss battles.
The Swapper is a puzzle-platformer title in which users search for a way off the abandoned Theseus space station. The title is also available for the PS3 and PS Vita.

This week, the Playstation 4 500GB Glacier White Destiny Bundle ranked as the No. 3 best-selling pre-order product at BestBuy.com’s Video Games division.
The bundle, to be sold Sept. 9, will include a new PS4 500GB White SKU, White Dualshock 4 Controller and a copy of Destiny at $449.99.
Capcom Co. this week said it will release Resident Evil for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC in spring 2015.
The digital release will include the 2002 Resident Evil remake previously released to Nintendo Co.’s GameCube, with updated textures and 1080p high-definition graphics on next-generation consoles.
In addition, the title will feature 5.1 surround sound support and an option between 16:9 widescreen or 4:3 classic ratio.
Finally, users can toggle between the original Resident Evil tank control scheme or new current standard analog stick control movement.
Blizzard Entertainment Inc. this week said Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition the Playstation 4 and Xbox One will include patch support for future game updates.
This week, the developer said PS4 and Xbox One SKU will include ongoing patch support after PC patch releases.
In addition, the PS4 SKU will include an exclusive Nephalem Rift inspired by The Last of Us and an armor set based on Shadow of the Colossus.
The title, to be sold Aug. 19, includes the Reaper of Souls expansion pack, Apprentice Mode to boost low-level players, local, online four-player co-op, new inventory system, updated boss battles and more.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 18,685 nits between July 28 and Aug. 3 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 23,642 units the week prior.
The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines at No. 6.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 464 units to rank at No. 6 in the same period.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware ranked No. 7 units in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 157 units between July 28 to Aug. 3 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 129 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week said it will sell the Xbox One Madden NFL 15 Bundle Aug. 26 at U.S. retail.
The bundle will include the Xbox One standard edition hardware, Madden NFL 15 download code, wireless controller, chat headset, and three Ultimate Team Pro Packs at $399.99.
Microsoft this week price cut first-party Xbox One titles to $49.99 in a permanent price reduction initiative.
Titles now available at $49.99 include Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Ryse: Son of Rome.
The price cut is in effect at U.S. retail and the Xbox Games Store.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Call of Duty: Ghosts Nemesis DLC for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Nemesis includes four multiplayer maps – Goldrush, Subzero, Dynasty, and Showtime.
In addition, the DLC includes Episode 4: Exodus in Extinction Mode.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released new DLC for Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark.
New DLC includes three new Decepticons for Survival Mode – Stinger, Skywarp, and Thundercracker at $1.99 each.
In addition, two new weapons – the Glass Gas Canon and the Electro Bolter – are available at $0.99 each.
Finally, the Dark Spark Battle Pack includes all three Decepticons and the two new weapons at $5.99.
2K Games’ WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition ranked in the top five pre-order sales at GameStop Corp.’s online division this week due to building demand.
This week, the WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 1 best-selling pre-order product at GameStop.com.
The Xbox One SKU ranked at No. 5 in the same period.
The WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition will include a copy of WWE 2K15, Hulk Hogan and Hollywood Hulk Hogan playable characters, Sting playable character pack, piece of authentic ring canvas from Hulk Hogan’s Monday Night Raw appearance, collectible art card personally autographed by Hulk Hogan, and Funko Hollywood Hulk Hogan vinyl figure at $99.99.
Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Oct. 14.
The title will be rebuilt for next-generation hardware and include all previously released DLC product.

It sold 9,429 units the week prior.
Mario Kart 8 ranked as the No. 3 software title for the week selling 18,067 units for the week.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.
Nintendo this week said it will release a new update to Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U.
The update will include a new map display on the TV, improved online stability, new records screen, and three free Mercedes-Benz karts.
It will be released Aug. 27.
Nintendo this week said Capcom Co.’s Mega Man 5 is now available in the Wii U Virtual Console division.
The NES title features 13 stages and the boss Proto Man.
It sells at $4.99.
Nintendo Co. this week said Ganondorf will be a playable character in Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U.
Ganondorf wields a the Great Sword to battle enemies.

In addition, PC users will have access to the Ruins multiplayer map and the Legionnaire’s Trust Sword.

The hardware sold 38,445 units the week prior.
It ranked seven titles in the top 10, including Yoshi’s New Island at No. 2.
