Sony Corp. this week released System Software Update v1.75 for the Playstation 4.

The update adds 3D Blu-ray disc support to the hardware.

The PS4 is sold at $399.99.

The hardware utilizes a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. In addition, the hardware features a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.

It has sold more than seven million units in global markets.
