Sling Media Inc. this week said it will release the Slingbox M1 and SlingTV hardware to U.S. retail.
The Slingbox M1, which replaces the prior Slingbox 350, offers remote access to home TV channels and DVR functionality to PCs, tablets, and phones. The new hardware includes integrated 2.4/5Ghz Wi-Fi, Ethernet Port, component and composite input and output, and utilizes the new Slingbox for Desktop application for PCs and Macs.
It will be sold July 20 at $149.99.
The SlingTV, powered by the prior Slingbox 500 hardware, adds a new Electronic Programming Guide to discover and navigate TV content. In addition, the interface is powered by SlingCloud to analyze popularity, reviews and social activity.
It will be sold in Aug. at $299.99.
Both devices offer remote access to home TV content without a monthly fee.
