Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 4 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 7,876 units between June 30 to July 6 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 8,059 units at launch the week prior.
The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Ubisoft Inc.’s Watch Dogs at No. 5 selling 12,783 units for the week.
The PS3 sold 7,511 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said the Destiny Beta for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 will launch July 17.
Pre-order customers will receive Beta access between July 17 and July 26. In addition, a Beta Rally will take place July 26 and offer a special reward to users who visit the Tower or frontiers.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Destiny Collector’s Edition and Ghost Edition SKUs to retail Sept. 9.
The Limited Edition SKU will include the Limited Edition SteelBook Case and Game Disc; Guardian Folio with Field Guide, Postcards, and Antique Star Chart; Collector’s Edition Digital Content including the Destiny Expansion Pass at $99.99.
The Ghost Edition SKU will add a Ghost replica that features lights and audio from the game at $149.99.
Sega Corp. this week said customers who pre-order Alien: Isolation will receive the Nostromo Edition with bonus content.
The Crew Expendable bonus includes Ellen Ripley, Dallas and Parker following the deaths of Brett and Kane. Users can control each character to explore the Nostromo and escape the alien threat.
The original cast, including Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Veronica Cartwright (Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (Brett) and Yaphett Khoto (Parker) will reprise their roles from Alien.
Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror title that includes Amanda Ripley, daughter of franchise veteran Ellen Ripley.

In June, Valiant Hearts: The Great War ranked as the No. 3 best-selling PS4 title at the Playstation Store.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a puzzle adventure title set in World War I.
The final game utilizes UbiArt framework to animate the title in comic book-style.
Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 20,655 units between June 30 and July 6 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 24,919 units the week prior.
Freedom Wars held as the No. 1 software for the week selling 43,160 units.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 1,579 units to rank at No. 6 in the same period.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this month said it will release Tales of Hearts R to the PS Vita to U.S. retail Nov. 11.
Tales of Hearts R features Kor, a young man who must restore a young woman’s heart and soul.
The final game includes the new Aerial Chase Linear Motion Battle System to move freely in aerial battles and character designs by Mutsumi Inomata.
Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this month said One Piece: Unlimited World Red for the PS Vita will be sold at U.S. retail July 14 and in digital format July 15.
Developed by Ganbarion Co. Ltd., One Piece: Unlimited World Red is an action adventure RPG title that will feature an episodic story, the Straw Hat crew, and boss battles against Rob Lucci, Caesar Clown, and more.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware ranked No. 7 units in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 180 units between June 30 and July 30 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 201 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week said it will include multiplayer modes from later Halo titles in the Halo 2 Anniversary component of Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One.
New multiplayer modes in the Halo 2 Anniversary component include SWAT for no shields and no motion tracker, Ricochet to get the ball in the enemy goal, Infection zombie mode and Race to enter a vehicle and hit all the checkpoints.
The title, to be sold Nov. 11, will include Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 on a single-disc with 60 frames-per-second, 1080p graphics and sound.
EA Inc. this week said Bungie Inc.’s Destiny Beta for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 will be available July 23.
The Beta will conclude July 26.
Customers who pre-order the title will receive a Beta access code at launch.
Microsoft said it will release Project Spark to the Xbox One and the PC Oct. 7.
The Project Spark Starter Pack will include the sci-fi pack Galaxies: First Contact, the warrior champion Sir Haakon ‘Hawk’ the Knight, and Champions Quest: Void Storm, the first episode a epic campaign adventure.
Project Spark is a building title that allows users to build a game concept from scratch using in-game tools.
It will sell at $39.99.
Atlus USA Inc. this week said Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will not include a region lock for North America and South America.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, to be sold Sept. 30, includes the original cast from Persona 3 and 4 in addition to new combatants like Junpei Iori, Yukari Takeba, and Rise Kujikawa.
The final game includes a new Shadow type that holds different fighting mechanics per character.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 9,961 units between June 30 and July 6 to rank at No. 3 in overall sales.
It sold 10,635 units the week prior.
Mario Kart 8 ranked as the No. 4 software title for the week selling 19,386 units for the week.
Nintendo in late June released the Link Hylian Sword Trailer for Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U.
The trailer features Link with the Hylian Sword in a battle against an army of enemies.
The title will feature trademark playable characters including Link and Captain Impa on a quest to save Princess Zelda from the evil sorceress Cia.
Nintendo this week released Bases Loaded for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in the Virtual Console division.
Bases Loaded is the classic 1988 NES title that includes 12 teams and 30 players.
The final game includes a single game mode, a pennant title mode, and two-player simultaneous functionality.
