Sony Corp. this week released System Software Update v1.72 for the Playstation 4.

The update is said to offer improved system stability and incorporates minor bug fixes.

A prior v1.70 update added the SHAREfactory video editor and option to export and save videos and screenshots to a USB drive.

In addition, the update included an HDCP off function to capture gameplay via HDMI.

The PS4 is sold at $399.99.

The hardware has sold more than seven million units in global markets.
