Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 4 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 8,395 units between June 9 and June 15 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 9,466 units at launch the week prior.

The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including Thief at No. 8 and FIFA 14 No. 10.

The PS3 sold 6,564 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.

Sony this week said the Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling video game hardware at May U.S. retail.

The PS4 has sold more than seven million units in global territories.

PS4 software sales have totaled 20.5 million units worldwide.

Retailer Amazon.com Inc. this week price cut pre-order sales for Sony Corp.’s The Last of Us Remastered for the Playstation 4 in a new retail initiative.

This week, The Last of Us Remastered carries a pre-sale price of $49.99, $10 off the $59.99 MSRP.

The title will include full 1080p resolution, upgraded character models, improved shadows and lighting. In addition, it will include the Abandoned Territories Map Pack, Reclaimed Territories Map Pack, and The Last of Us: Left Behind Single Player campaign.

Konami Corp. this week released the Extended Trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The E3 Theatre Demo Trailer features an extended preview of the final game, said to be 100 times larger than >Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

EA Inc. this week said the Battlefield Hardline Beta for the Playstation 4 has been extended through June 26.P>

The closed beta was previously scheduled to end June 22.

Developed by Visceral Games, Battlefield Hardline is a first-person action title set against the backdrop of the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 231 units between June 9 and June 15 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 255 units the week prior.

Respawn Entertainment and EA Inc.’s Titanfall for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC ranked in the top 10 top-selling software titles in May U.S. retail data.

NPD Group Inc. this week said Titanfall ranked as the No. 8 software in May across all platforms.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One ranked in the top three pre-order sales at GameStop Corp. this week due to building demand.

This week, the Halo: The Master Chief Collection ranked as the No. 3 best-selling pre-order product at GameStop.com.

The title, to be sold Nov. 11, will include Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 on a single-disc with 60 frames-per-second, 1080p graphics and sound.

In addition, select multiplayer maps will be rebuilt to utilize the power of the Xbox One.

EA Inc. this week released the EA Sports UFC to U.S. retail.

EA Sports UFC is a mixed martial arts fighting title built for next-generation consoles.

The title includes a non-linear damage system, real-time exertion, body deformation, and high-resolution licensed athletes.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released a free update to Trials Fusion.

The update includes a brand new online tournament mode and 10 player-created tracks available in Track Central.

Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One ranked in the top 15 pre-order sales at Best Buy Co. Inc.’s online division due to building demand.

This week, Sunset Overdrive ranked as the No. 12 best-selling pre-order product at BestBuy.com’s Video Games division.

Developed by Insomniac Games, the title is a co-op action title that will allow users to utilize various weapons to battle a range of alien enemies.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked third in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 12,249 units between June 9 and June 15 to rank at No. 3 in overall sales.

It sold 13,766 units the week prior.

Mario Kart 8 ranked as the No. 1 software title for the week selling 42,261 units for the week.

In the title, users push, pull and climb through more than 250 puzzles.

The final game includes HD graphics, original puzzles, and the World Pushmo Fair – an in-game hub that allows players to share and download new puzzles.

It sells at $9.99.
