Nintendo Co. this week demonstrated Yoshi’s Woolly World for the Wii U at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, CA.

The side-scrolling action title features Yoshi in a yarn-based world that is incorporated into the gameplay.

Yoshi's Wooly WorldIn the preview build, users could attack enemies with Yoshi’s tongue, jump, and lay yarn balls that could be aimed and shot to attack or filled out unwoven spaces to unlock items.

In addition, users can tongue attack an open thread to unravel brand new level areas.

In two-player co-op, each player can swallow each other and be spit out as a yarn ball.

The graphics engine was vibrant at 60 frames-per-second with an yarn-like quality to character builds and level construction.

Yoshi’s Woolly World will be sold in 2015.
