Sony Corp. this week demonstrated DriveClub for the Playstation 4 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The Audi R8 held solid mechanics with steer, gas, and brake accurate to each analog press in the snowy terrain. The windy road required the driver to adjust to each turn with care but mechanics were well-tuned and manageable with the Dualshock 4 controller.
The graphics engine held solid at 30 frames-per-second with detailed vehicle models and high track detail. In addition, the track held dynamic weather variation with an evening glow that emerged toward the end of the race.
Developed by Evolution Studios, DriveClub is a racing simulation title that features social networking functionality to allow users to form racing groups and race with friends.
The final game will include a 1080p high definition graphics engine and Remote Play functionality via the PS Vita.
It will be sold Oct. 8.
