EA Inc. this week released the Beta Preview for Battlefield Hardline for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 and PC.

The PS4 Closed Beta included two multiplayer game modes – Heist and Blood Money.

Battlefield HardlineIn Heist, robbers must arm and defend vaults until they explode in order to nab loot and escape while cops prevent the heist.

In Blood Money, each side must obtain cash from an open vault in the middle of the map and whichever side deposits the most loot to their respective vault wins.

In-between respawns users can take obtained cash to purchase new equipment like weapons, first aid kits, or bats.

The controls were solid in the beta with precise aim and movement functionality on land and in-vehicle. Maps were large, though 32-player mobs were concentrated in only a few key areas.

The graphics engine held at 60 frames-per-second but could decrease to 30 in trafficked areas. The fully realized Downtown L.A. held solid construction and special effects were saturated and well-formed.

Developed by Visceral Games, Battlefield Hardline is a first-person action title set against the backdrop of the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals.

The final game will include single-player and multiplayer online functionality.

It will be sold this fall.
