Sony Corp. this week released System Software Update v1.71 for the Playstation 4.

The update is said to offer improved system stability of some features to the hardware.

The prior v1.70 update added the SHAREfactory video editor and option to export and save videos and screenshots to a USB drive.

In addition, the update included an HDCP off function to capture gameplay via HDMI.

The PS4 is sold at $399.99.

The hardware has sold more than seven million units in global markets.
