Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fifth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 6,716 units between May 12 and May 18 to rank at No. 5 in overall sales.

It sold 7,613 units the week prior.

In the fourth quarter, Nintendo held a loss of 46.4 billion yen ($456 million).

The company sold 2.72 million Wii U consoles, below 2.8 million Jan. forecast and below the nine million units forecast one year prior. The hardware has shipped 6.17 million worldwide units to date.
