Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 13,865 units between May 12 and May 18 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 18,494 units the week prior.

Genkai Totsuki Moero Chronicle ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software title for the week.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 1,642 units to rank at No. 6 in the same period.

The PS Vita and PSP units sold two million units combined in the three-month period between Oct. and Dec. 2013.

Sony forecasts sales of five million PS Vita and PSP units by fiscal Mar. 2014.
