Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 11,692 units between Apr. 28 to May 4 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 10,129 units at launch the week prior.
The PS3 sold 9,917 units to rank at No. 4 in the same period.
The Child of Light PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 9 best-selling title for the week.
Sony this week released the Blu-ray vs. PS Plus Edition trailer for the DriveClub Playstation Plus Edition for the Playstation 4.
The trailer explains features included in the DriveClub PS Plus Edition versus the full Blu-ray disc version.
The PS Plus Edition, to be offered at no cost to Playstation Plus members, will include 11 tracks in one location (India), 10 vehicles, and access to all game modes.
The full version will include 55 tracks, 50 vehicles and 50 tour events.
Users who download the PS Plus Edition can upgrade to the full version for $49.99.
Sony this week released MLB 14 The Show for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail.
The PS4 SKU offers a graphics leap with metal, wood, and steel material to relay an accurate sun reflection, detailed stadiums, and increased texture sizes.
In addition, the title allows users to carry saves from prior MLB The Show titles, a Quick-Counts option for shorter games, and Road to the Show will feature a new advancement system, new intuitive player creation process, and all new pre-draft prospect showcase.

The Drakengard website includes new game soundtrack samples from the title by Sound Director Keiichi Okabe.
Developed by Access Games, Drakengard 3 is a prequel in the action RPG franchise.
Sony this week released The Last of Us: Ground Bundle DLC for the Playstation 3.
The Grounded Bundle includes single-player and multiplayer content from Grounded Mode to the Reclaimed Terrritories Map Pack.
Finally, the pack includes new guns and survival skills, two Survival Skills Bundles, and a new gun.
Grounded Mode can be purchased separately at $4.99 and the Reclaimed Territories Map Pack can be purchased separately at $9.99.
Ground Bundle DLC is included at no cost as part of The Last of Us Season Pass.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 24,717 units between Apr. 28 and May 4 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
By comparison, the hardware sold 23,942 units the week prior.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software title for the week.
Meanwhile, the PSP sold 2,321 units to rank at No. 6 in the same period.

Ubisoft Inc. this week said it will release Valiant Hearts: The Great War June 25th.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a puzzle adventure title set in World War I.
The download title will be sold via the Playstation Network, Xbox Live and the PC at $14.99.
Capcom Co. this week said Dead Rising 3 for the Xbox One has shipped 1.2 million units to global retail.
It reached one million units sold in Jan. 2014.
The franchise has sold more than seven million units to date.
Focus Home Interactive this week released Bound by Flame to U.S. retail.
The action RPG includes real-time tactical battles, full character customization options with skill trees like Warrior, Ranger and Pyromancer, and a crafting system to improve weapon and armor options.

The trailer features a preview of the next-generation ice rink and player models.

Nintendo this week posted a loss in the fourth quarter amid slower-than-expected sales of the Wii U console.
In the fourth quarter, Nintendo held a loss of 46.4 billion yen ($456 million).
The company sold 2.72 million Wii U consoles, below 2.8 million Jan. forecast and below the nine million units forecast one year prior. The hardware has shipped 6.17 million worldwide units to date.
The Nintendo 3DS sold 12.2 million units, below the 13.5 million forecast in Jan. The hardware has sold 43 million units worldwide to date.
It expects to hold a 40 billion yen ($392 million) profit in one year.
