Microsoft Corp. this week said the Xbox One ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware at Mar. U.S. retail.

The hardware sold 311,000 units in Mar. to rank as the No. 2 platform for the month.

The Xbox One has sold five million units to retailers in global markets.

Microsoft held earnings of $6.56 billion on revenue of $24.52 billion in the second quarter ending Dec. 31, 2013.

The Devices and Consumer division, which includes the Xbox platform, held $1.9 billion in revenue, a 68 percent increase from the year prior.

The Xbox One features an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.

It sells at $499.99.
