Target Corp. stores this week began offering a $40 Bonus with the purchase of Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS XL in a new retail promotion.

This week, customers who purchase the Nintendo 3DS XL at $199.99 will receive a $40 Gift Card at no additional cost.

The Nintendo 3DS has sold (to retailers) 42.74 million units and 152.29 software units to date.

The company forecasted a loss of $242 million for the fiscal year ending Mar. 31. In addition, it has lowered Nintendo 3DS annual sales to 13.5 million from 18 million units.
